I am glad someone else wondered where Caroline was too. I agree with you Casey. John is back with the heavy breath hairball voice which is over acting…classic finger hand gesture near the face too. The scene with Stefano just made me laugh. I enjoyed Bo and Hope and it was was great seeing more of Lexie and Abe.

I was never a big fan of either of them, but did enjoy the stories they were in (for the most part); but, if they don’t pick it up a bit with regard to the acting, this might not be the spectacular return that TPTB have been hyping.
September 29, 2011 at 1:34 pm #26905caseyParticipantsomething to do with the “other” reason John mentioned for their return to Salem. I have a feeling it is something negative, and perhaps this accounts for their less than exhuberant attitude.
I sure hope this won’t turn out to be one of those “you can’t go home again” outcomes. Like Wayne Northrup’s return engagements, although his stories were awful.
Viewers want J&M for their spunkiness and gung ho attitudes. Let’s hope both the actors and the writers are up to it.September 29, 2011 at 2:13 pm #26907annieoParticipantIt seems like when "old" actors are gone for some time and return (Kayla, Patch, Kim, the ‘old’ Roman [Wayne] they never quite recapture what they once had. Part of it is the storylines they’re given. I remember I was really looking forward to Wayne’s return because I loved him as Roman. Then the storyline for his return was just awful. It does seem that Jennifer has meshed back into the fold. But even Anna and Caliope’s storyline whenever that was just didn’t have the zing it should have.

I think maybe they are trying to overextend the writing the way we are all expecting to be from before they left and have just plain gone overboard with it. Maybe they’ll settle in to things more betterly soon. (How’s THAT for good English?) Hope so, anyway.

The subdued mannerisms are setting the tone for the arrest and for the questions that will arise concerning John’s activites. J&M know that many people will turn against them. It is hard to put on a happy face knowing what could happen at any moment. I think they are doing a good job at showing apprehension.
