I’m sure that lots will think that was a real feather in Kate’s cap to tell Sami off the way she did, but honestly I think she made an ass of herself. Certainly, Sami would care what happens to Rafe. They did share a life together. That doesn’t mean that she is in love with Rafe, nor does it mean that Sami is ‘jealous’ of Kate and Rafe. Let’s be real here. Does Kate really believe that Rafe is in love with her? All they have EVER had is bedroom or sex scenes, with the exception of a conversation once with Nick over Gabi. Let’s face it, she is his mistress at best. Boy, she’s going to really go off the deep end if he wakes up with amnesia and doesn’t even remember having had anything to do with her.
Sami better worry about proving to E.J. that she loves him and not Rafe, and to hell with what Kate thinks.
June 6, 2013 at 3:55 pm #39937MoGirlParticipantFor some reason I like Rafe and Kate together. They only showed bedroom scenes but they knew each other for some time now and who is to say they have not gotten close. It is an odd pairing but I like it . I think the whole Kate Sami thing was just to set up something for EJ to hear. Oh well guess we will see how it plays out.
June 6, 2013 at 6:28 pm #39940goodolddaysParticipantI do NOT like the Rafe/Kate pairing, and I hope he does forget it ever happened!
June 6, 2013 at 8:53 pm #39944justwonderingParticipantI am with hyou, MoGirl. I thought I might be the nly one who likes the pairing of Rafe and Kate. At first I was skeptical, but now I like it. It started as a rebound for both of them, but I think it has developed and there is no pretense. They do seem to like being together.
As for Sami, i think that she does still have feelings for Rafe. IT also annoys her that OF aall prople, Rafe woul turn to Kate–Sami’s number 1 enemy!! Sami has always wanted whom she isn’t with. As they say, "the lady doth protest too much". She hates that Rafe has moved on and that dries EJ nuts!!!!!
I say, go Rate.
June 7, 2013 at 3:28 am #39947shadowParticipantSami is a control freak and also jealous of Kate. She flits around trying to be in charge of any and everything. Wish she would take a LOOOONG vacation(literally) and give my TV some relief.
June 7, 2013 at 3:19 pm #39952PattiParticipantSami Brady is not going anywhere unless and until Alison Sweeney says she is, and that’s perfectly fine with me. Kate Roberts, on the other hand, is a pathetic cougar trying to make herself believe that Rafe loves her (“oh, Rafe, you have given me back my soul”) — (gag), when that could not be further from the truth on Rafe’s part. Sure, he enjoys the action he’s getting — what red-blooded man wouldn’t — BUT they are nothing more than f*** buddies. Now, he just doesn’t care who knows it. And, look where it’s gotten him. Why do you think he’s in this predicament now that Stefano has decided he wants revenge. For what, I don’t know, since he doesn’t want Kate either; he just doesn’t want her canoodling with anyone else to fulfill her needs. Kate has NOTHING for Sami to be jealous of. Sami and Kate have always hated one another’s guts; this is not a new development for them. Sami may appear jealous, which is how Kate is seeing it, when truthfully she (Sami) just does not want to see Rafe get hurt any further than he already has, and Lord knows anyone who associates with Kate Roberts for any length of time winds up in the jaws of death sooner or later.
I have no concerns about Sami going off-screen anytime soon. She is involved in too many stories right now, so what does that say about how TPTB feel about her? Sami will prevail. She always does.
June 7, 2013 at 4:00 pm #39953justwonderingParticipantPatti,
You always seem like you have inside information about the show, so I was wondering if your conclusions are based on inside info or just your own opinions. The reasons I ask is that I do not come to the same conclusions as you have.
Kate wanted to break up with Rafe because she heared for his safety. It was Rafe who felt that it was not necessary. Kate wanted to keep their affair quiet, Rafe was the one who didn’t care who knew of their relationship. So my conclusion is that Rafe feels like their relationship is more than friends with benefits.
It appears that you do not care for Kate. But I like this SL because it is different. So many times an older man is paired with a younger woman. I like the reverse for a change. Will it last? Probably not, but then no one stays together on a soap.
I also disagree that Stefano has no feeling for Kate. I think that Stefano and Kate were well matched and had true feelings for each other. Even Chad believes that there is still a spark between them. Otherwise, he wouldn’t care what happened to her or who she was with.
As for Sami, again i state that Sami ALWAYS wants the one she is NOT with!!! Rafe always made her feel safe and put her before himself. EJ wants to conquer her once and for all.
i am glad that we can offer our own opinions, as you can see we differ alot on this subject.
June 7, 2013 at 4:56 pm #39954PattiParticipantthat’s what makes message boards so much fun, especially if we keep it civil when it comes to expressing our individual opinions. What’s going to happen next week will begin a whole new storyline for Sami; one that will keep her, again, front-burner for months, and will involve a good part of the cast. I can say, though, that I think it will be interesting in a good soapy sort of way.
As for Kate, the character hasn’t been deserving of any accolades for her lifestyle, yet Sami Brady is constantly the bad one, the jealous one, the man-eater so undeserving of any good happening in her life. And, isn’t that the way most people feel it should be if it is a character they simply do not like and refuse to see anything good about them? I adore Lauren Koslow for her acting ability every bit as much as I do Eileen Davis, but the villainous antics of Kate or Kristen or even Nicole for that matter never seem to be demonized as much as Ali Sweeney’s Sami, and that I just cannot wrap my head around.
To each his own, and that should always be accepted in soaps; but, I have always loved the character of Sami, and I suppose I always will. I’m looking for no arguments with anyone here; this is, simply put, my POV, which obviously I feel the need to express when I defend her, because from what I can tell, no one else will (LOL).
June 7, 2013 at 9:06 pm #39955shadowParticipantIn response to defending Sami, when nobody will. It’s obvious that Sami isn’t liked, especially by Salem Spectator. They really tell it like it is and not sugar coating it.
They seem to be overly tired of her(Sami) being on screen so much. But of course she is the golden child(ugh).
Please somebody give us some relief.
By the way, who is the "head" of these forums?
June 8, 2013 at 4:30 am #39958justwonderingParticipantJust for the record, I do not dislike Sami. I really don’t think that I have bad mouthed her, either. I take Sami for what she is, a woman who has never gotten over her mom and John on the conference table. A girl who is willing to do anything to get what she wants. A girl who will always have a reason for her actions and who has never thought before flying into a rage. But that is Sami and I accept her for who she is. There have been times when I have agreed with her actions and times that I have not. But I do like her. Life in Salem would be dull without her.
As for Kate–she has always been the bad one. However, she has a way about her. She certainly has been through a great deal in her life, starting with her first husband. She has been rich, poor, stuck on a fishing boat, waitressing at a small diner. She has been with powerful men, both Victor and Stefano. I like her best when she is vulnerable with Roman and with Rafe. I feel that she has paid for her sins as much as any villain in Salem, more than Vivian ot Nicole.
I think that both Lauren and Ali are great actresses because they make a person either cheer or boo for them and trhat is their job. I know that Eileen is a good actress but I just don’t care for her character, Kristen.
I look forward to the new story lines that are beginning and hope that they are well done.
