What do you mean? Right up until the scene in Caroline’s hospital room, she’d been trying to convince Stephanie to tell the truth as well, warning her that her marriage will be based on a lie. Unfortunately, Kayla decided to keep the secret because Steph said she would never forgive her. It seems Steph will prove to be the cause of her own undoing anyway; I love it!
January 8, 2011 at 3:36 pm #19816PattiParticipantI agree with ta143. I don’t see anything wrong with Kayla’s concerns, not just over what happened to Caroline. I have a feeling that would have happened on its own, without any help from Kayla or anyone else. She’s been acting like a lunatic of late, and it’s been building for some time in her to explode. But I think Kayla’s concerns for her daughter’s reasoning for hiding the truth from Nathan should be something any mother would worry about. She’s been down that road with Steph where she’s had to face disappointment, and as her mother she does not want to see her child begin a marriage with what is basically a lie. Stephanie lied to Kayla’s face yesterday by telling her she, herself, didn’t change the test results and was not responsible. Maybe she herself didn’t, but she had Ian change it, so she’s as guilty as Caroline in my eyes. I kinda’ feel sorry for Kayla. She’s damned if she does, and damned if she don’t …… somewhere between a rock and a hard place. I don’t think she gives a flying fruit basket for the likes of Chloe, Philip, Melanie, or anyone else except her child, who, when the smoke clears, will once again have won the battle (for now), but will eventually have lost the war. I don’t think she’s being nosey, or being a busy-body, as everyone seems to feel. I also think that as a doctor, Kayla now realizes that her own mother and daughter have taken it upon themselves to make the unethical decision to play God with a child’s life just so they could clear the way for their own happiness.

And she was so two-faced about it, she wanted the truth to come out and she wanted some people to get in trouble, but not her precious mom or daughter, who were key players in the lie.

Several people know ‘some’ of the truth, but not the whole story. I just don’t think Kayla is justified in blurting out what she thinks in the truth. What happens if she is wrong and it is only a partial truth? There are some things that an outsider can NOT fix, and marital problems are in that catagory. Kayla has no idea of all the damage she may have done.
