Is it Carley’s intention to merely live near her daughter yet not let on to her who she actually is for fear of something happening to her? I don’t think this storyline is making a lot of sense. First off, if it’s Melanie, I can’t imagine her with her red hair and fair complection being Carley’s daughter. And there will have to be a whole lot of back writing to make it barely believable. I hate when they do that. Why not just bring in a new character instead of rewriting so much. I guess because we wouldn’t have any invested interest in a new person.

I mean we don’t know anything about Mel’s past growing up and her mother has never been mentioned. So far I think this is a good SL and we know that Bo and Carly will never have anything between them now. In fact I see Carly and Justin will end up together.

December 10, 2009 at 4:26 am #8260shadowParticipantThis sl is so ridiculous. First off, I couldn’t believe how Carly smashed the glass in Bo’s front door to get in to his house. She had it all planned to stay at Bo’s. The idea of her moving in to Maggie’s to get to know her supposed daughter is stupid. Bo keeps saying she wouldn’t be safe anywhere but at his house. So its okay for her to move in with Maggie and have her,Mel and Mia be in harm’s way. Wasn’t the reason he didn’t want Hope and Ciera to come home was because they wouldn’t be safe with Carly there. I don’t buy that Carly doesn’t have any money to even rent a room at the Salem Inn. That’s hog wash. The woman looks like she is on drugs. She will cling to Bo and he is stupid enough to let her.
December 10, 2009 at 11:30 am #8269June66watcherParticipantThe non-reveal of which girl is Carly’s daughter has us on the edge of our seats… OK – nose to the TV screen… waiting for that reveal so we can say "I knew it". I like that it has us frustrated… like the writers have two solutions in the works, waiting to see which one works the best!
December 10, 2009 at 2:27 pm #8275PattiParticipantthat Chad was Bo and Carly’s son? I do, so I’m just taking this as the writers laughing up their sleeve, seriously thinking they have finally stumped us. That being said, I was always suspicious of Melanie not being Trent’s daughter. Her last name was revealed as "Layton," and if ever two people didn’t look anything alike, it was Melanie and Trent. As for Bo and Carly, IMO Bo is being the ridiculous one now. Carly keeps trying to leave, and Bo keeps giving her every reason not to. She insisted on getting a room at the Inn, and I believe her when she claims that the last thing she wants to do is to come between Bo and Hope, their marriage and their family life together. In the meantime, Bo is now the one trying to seriously flush his marriage down the toilet, and he’s doing a damn good job of it. I don’t think there is any ulterior motive with Carly other than wanting to find her daughter, but this fear of Vivian taking over Lawrence’s plot to kill the child is what is nerve-wracking to me. Why not just pull Vivian up and put the fear of God into her. The woman is twice your age, Carly. You didn’t have any trouble knifing Lawrence when he threatened your child; what’s so damn scary to you about Vivian? If it’s Victor, Bo will handle that end of it, so step back and look at the big picture here. Lawrence made you give your child away in the first place, and we all know where he supposedly wound up (although I believe he’s alive). As for what she looks like or what her name is, maybe Carly never even had the opportunity to even hold her child before Lawrence gave or sold her to, in my guess, Trent. Both Bo and Hope are the ones acting like children here, not Carly and Justin. I, too, think that maybe they will try putting these two together eventually, and I’m okay with that; but, in the meantime, Bo and Hope are the ones I find completely frustrating in this storyline. This yearly on again/off again marriage of theirs is pathetic. I’m sure the writers could do better for these vets other than the same old b/s!
December 10, 2009 at 2:28 pm #8276IzzyBParticipantI think it is cool how it is down to two people and the audience doesn’t know which one. I believe the writers know which person it is, they are just going to wait until the last minute to tell us. I see this SL going on for several months.
December 10, 2009 at 8:53 pm #8287ellenkbParticipantI think it is Melanie – we have never heard Mia say she was adopted, have we? Melanie lived in Europe – makes more sense. Also, I just think she’s a stronger actress and it will make for a better SL if it’s her.
December 11, 2009 at 12:21 pm #8305BonbonParticipant…but I think I like it much better if it were Mia. Mia really needs someone (besides Maggie) to care about her while Mel is so self-dependent, she’ll make her way no matter what.
I wonder (if it isn’t Mia) if we’ll ever find out anything about her parents. She never mentions a father and only disparaging remarks about her mom. Although it was years before we found out anything about Mimi’s parents and that turned out to be a real fiasco so maybe we’re better off not knowing.
