I hated how they depicted that child today, throwing a tantrum and eventually trying to slap Sami. Are they trying to tell us something already? Yes, he has been around the DiMeras way too long, Sami, but move in with them …. that’s the answer …. you TWIT!
April 22, 2010 at 10:24 pm #12356SWParticipantdo that just like Stefano & Anna had Carrie under hypnosis when she was a child and first came on the the show. I could see a repeat of that same type story. Anything for a Dimera to get his way!
April 22, 2010 at 10:36 pm #12357BonbonParticipantsomething a normal child might do and they are not portraying him as a little angel all the time. I think they do that with kids way too much on TV. I like it better when they tell it like it is. Kids DO sometimes talk back, especially at that age. We ask for realism…
April 23, 2010 at 1:18 pm #12371PattiParticipantin a child attempting to slap his mother in the face. I have a 4 year old grandson, and he would never, ever even think of slapping his dad or mom, me or any adult for that manner. He knows better. He may cry or act out at times if he doesn’t get his way, but believe me when I tell you, the hitting would NEVER happen. Sami may not be the best mother, but she’s not the worst and to me Johnny’s being that disrespectful to his mother was more of an indication of things to come from being a DiMera offspring than it was anything else.
April 23, 2010 at 1:36 pm #12375caseyParticipantThis boy is a handful and I don’t think it’s just acting. I bet he’s one holy terror at home. I have to wonder if he is encouraged to act up on set and then does it at home where it’s not appropriate, can he distinguish the difference?
While others may think his antics are cute, I see a potential brat here. And to show a scene like that, not a bright idea.April 23, 2010 at 1:38 pm #12377BonbonParticipantI did not see Johnny trying to slap Sami. It looked to me like he was trying to knock the phone out of her hand. I’ve seen many, many kids do things like that, especially with food they don’t want to eat. I saw it that he didn’t want her to call EJ.
No, slapping one’s mother is not normal, but talking back to her certainly is. If your grandson has never done that (and give him time, he’s still very young), he is very exceptional.
April 23, 2010 at 2:12 pm #12378BonoSugaRayParticipantI agree, BonBon! And I’m really glad that the writers are allowing the little children to have bigger roles now on the show! They are very entertaining!
April 23, 2010 at 4:27 pm #12385loritrollParticipantI actually thought the way Johnny acted was that of a normal child, throwing a tantrum. I too didn’t see him trying to hit his mom, though I’ve seen that happen many times with many children of that age. I saw what Bonbon saw and that was him trying to hit the phone out of her hand. As much as Johnny has been through in his young life, why are we surprised when he has a little tantrum? Didn’t surprise or bother me at all.
April 23, 2010 at 4:52 pm #12388BonbonParticipantHe does appear to be a little handfull. And I didn’t think they would write into the script him trying to hit his mother. I think that would be going a little too far with a child that age, no matter what he’s like at home.
April 23, 2010 at 6:22 pm #12389mama_freeParticipantI was wondering how confusing it would be for a child that small to be coaxed to be bad on the show and to know the difference in real life.
April 23, 2010 at 7:53 pm #12391annieoParticipantI just watched that portion of the show and I thought it looked like the little actor playing Johnny was smiling way too much for the tantrum he was throwing – like the directors were making a game out of it so he would do the bit correctly. It was like OK, now it’s time to yell "I Want My Daddy!" because he’d grin and say his part. I really didn’t think the scenes looked realistic at all, especially when the doorbell rang and he told his mom to get the door – actually I think that was totally unexpected from him and Sami played along because she was smiling as she went to the door. If she was upset about his trantrum she definitely would not have been smiling when she went to the door and Johnny would have ignored the door and keep up the tantrum. I think he knew what was going to happen next and was anticipating it.
April 23, 2010 at 8:54 pm #12393caseyParticipantI have no recollection of that.
