I saw about the last 15 minutes of the final episode. I watched the first three years but then it got a little too far out for me but still, it made me wonder… Can someone tell me, at the end, was everybody dead except the guy that stayed outside the church?
May 24, 2010 at 8:08 pm #1311253tdogsParticipantI have never watched Lost – (just never applealed to me) – but last night I was channel surfin’ and watched the last 10 – 15 minutes of it…
Did I see who I thought I saw on the show? Two characters from "FlashForward" were sitting in the benches of the church…and then another character (woman) who plays on another current show – but the scence with her was just a second or two…and then it was over, so I couldn’t really be sure if it was her (and can’t remember the show’s name).
Then the local news dedicated 15 minutes of their news broadcast (oil spill, war, terrorism, bad economy was like not happening)…to "Lost" – the newscasters showed about 20 "Lost" parties going on at bars, peoples homes – they even had a physics professor from University of Bezerkly in the Bay Area give a formula on his blackboard of the show…(which was even more confusing – so, would someone out there give me a in depth, understandable, quick synopis of this show?
Did I really miss something the last six years or was it all smoke and hype???
May 25, 2010 at 11:39 am #13120BonbonParticipantFirst of all, an in dept syno0psis would be impossible. The show from the very beginning was way out there and most things (very much like Days) were unexplainable. I watched the first two years but eventually gave up on it because nothing made sense. But, from reading some stuff on AOL’s news page, I think I discovered what happened, although fans are disagreeing amongst themselves over the meaning of the ending. I took it to mean that they all died in the plane crash in the first eppisode and for whatever reason, they were stuck in a not-heaven-not-hell universe which is where everything happened. The doctor (can’t remember his name) was the last (after talking to his father) to ‘let go’ and, as they say, ‘go to the light.’ It was a good enough explanation for me and probably the ONLY way they could possible end it. I think it was kind of like JR’s shower scene.
Hope that helps.

I think I would have gotten fustrated with "Lost" although, I really like the premise of they were in "purgatory" – because from what I understand from the news show that I watched the last night – apparently, all the passengers on the plane had some "baggage" that they carried – (and not the kind baggage you pack your clothes in). I’m watching FlashForward – and I swear I saw a couple of the character’s from Flash…in the church at the end of Lost. That was weird.
May 25, 2010 at 8:59 pm #13133BonbonParticipantThe woman with the long blonde hair is in Flash Forward but I stopped watching that after a couple of weeks and I didn’t watch the last four years of Lost so I don’t know who the other one would be but at least you’re right about one of them.
May 26, 2010 at 4:34 pm #13165TopazParticipantI’ve watched every episode from the beginning, and it would take a book to try and explain what happened over the past six seasons. However, I strongly disagree that everyone died in the plane crash in the first episode. Everything that happened on the island, actually happened. At the end of the show, the characters are in a sort of purgatory, waiting to "cross over into the light". When Jack entered the church and met his dad in a private room, his dad confirmed to him that he (Jack) was dead. He also told Jack that the other passengers on the plane were also dead–some had died before Jack did, and some much later on. Because these people had such a strong bond from being on the island together, they all needed to reunite in order to "cross over". The "flash sideways" scenes were just wishful thinking on the part of the characters–what they wished their lives had been like if there had been no plane crash. An example: Jack had a son in the "flash sideways" because he would have liked to have had a son, but in real life he did not have a son. No viewers of the show will ever agree 100% about everything that happened, but it was fun while it lasted.

Some of the actors and actresses have found new jobs on other TV shows, so you probably did see a familiar face on another show. The actor who portrayed "Jacob" on LOST (Mark Pellegrino) also portrayed "Lucifer" on Supernatural this past season. Elizabeth Mitchell–"Juliet" on LOST–is also "Erica" on "V". Dominic Monaghan ("Simon" on FlashForward) also was "Charlie" on LOST. "Charlie" died a couple of seasons ago on LOST, but he was in the final episode.
