storyline between Victor and Maggie. I suggested the pairing in an NBC survey ages and ages ago. Perhaps others did as well and they listened! Good characters should never be in the background regardless of age. Viewers have always loved Maggie and Victor. Now they need to get Caroline a love interest and go on from there!
September 23, 2010 at 10:27 pm #16519DeeLanParticipantAfter reading that it was suggested in an NBC survey I’m wondering if this was the reason they decided to have Mickey die. They couldn’t have them separate since they were so much in love and the fans wouldn’t stand for that but having Mickey gone and then Maggie developing a relationship with Victor would be more acceptable.
September 23, 2010 at 11:07 pm #1652053tdogsParticipantas he wanted retire from Days to spend more time at home with his family and for health concerns. I suppose the writers came up with the Victor/Maggie thing awhile ago and perhaps decided to give her a suitable mourning period of just over a year or so, but with the way the writers write the SL’s some times I highly doubt it. Whatever, or whoever came up with the V&M pairing did a bang-up first class job though!
September 24, 2010 at 12:00 am #16521DeeLanParticipantJohn Clarke’s been gone for a while and they’ve had other Mickey’s and explained him being off screen for years. The decision to have Mickey die came as a shock to everyone even John Clarke so I’m thinking the writers had something in mind for Maggie when they made that decision.
September 24, 2010 at 9:25 am #16524SWParticipantMickey’s never caught on and just weren’t Mickey to the audience. It is very hard to replace an older character that the audience knows very well. Can you imagine John or Marlena coming back played by someone else? Easier to kill the character off than to have someone else playing the role.
September 26, 2010 at 12:51 pm #16559caseyParticipantto match opposites. I liked Victor w/Caroline because it was a good girl/bad boy thing with the added draw of the “forbidden” element of Caroline being married.
Same thing now with Vic and Mags. That’s what makes the dialog and interplay so great – that basic moral conflict.
The younger crowd is always written so superficially, where lust takes over, that I would love to see Days show a couple with true depth. Now that would be watchable!September 26, 2010 at 1:21 pm #16560BonbonParticipantI’d like to see something tragic (well, not terribly tragic, something like her losing her dog…if she had one) and Victor comforting her. We haven’t seen any physical contact between these two and while I don’t want to see any bones-jumping, I would love to see Victor tenderly holding Maggie and see a few little sparks start to fly and Maggie realize that she does have feelings for him.
September 26, 2010 at 2:26 pm #1656553tdogsParticipantin what ever form – right now – it’s about the only SL worth watching! Come on writers – make something of this! I’m beggin’ ya!
September 26, 2010 at 5:15 pm #16568BonbonParticipantwe are always griping about how the writers rush couples into relationships without any romancing. So now, they’re taking their time with Vic and Mags so let’s just enjoy the trip. You know what they say…an-ti-ci-pa-tion…!!!
September 26, 2010 at 6:11 pm #16569NoraParticipantdid they have that on about nicole oosin pookie yet? I think I missed it.
September 26, 2010 at 7:04 pm #1657053tdogsParticipantas far as I can throw them…they’ve started and stopped too many story lines because well, I don’t know what their reasoning was. And every one jumps into bed with every one else when the writer’s get writer’s block instead of being creative.
I agree with ya whole-heartedly – they (the Day’s folks) have been rushed into too many physical relationships, but I think that is because the writer’s wanted to show off the guys in Day’s pecs and the bod’s on the women. Here with Maggie and Victor, (and I say this with all respect), they don’t have to do that. I hope that the writer’s truly value the little prize winning gem that they have with Victor and Maggie.
In fact, I would love for these two (and have said this in a previous post somewhere on SP) that I would love for Mags and Vic to have lots of adventures together. In doing so they become life-long, loving friends first, then just give us a little hint of romance, but treat each other with the respect, love, honoring and cherishing that they both deserve in the story (and we as fans do). Now that is a story line that would not be fast forwarded at all by me.
