After Marlena was left alone in the secret room the first time, why didn’t she break one of the plastic coat hangers and use it as a stabbing weapon? Or use one of the dresses to unscrew the light bulb from the socket, break it and use it as a weapon.
When Stefan came back and she was holding the book to her chest while talking to him, why didn’t she thrust it upward and break his nose? LOL, she needs to come train where I do.

After all this time of constantly being the victim of kidnapping, I wonder why Marlena hasn’t considered a self-defense class. It’s not that long ago that she and Claire were kidnapped. Honestly, she needs to stop psychoanalizing everyone and start learning how not to be a victim.
Our Krav Maga center is holding a women’s self-defense seminar this coming Friday. You should find one in your area as crime does not discriminate between class, gender, age, etc.

The article mentions "continuing to strke the opponent until they are completely incapacitated". That may hold true for the IDF, but the school I attend stresses using reasonable force. For force to be reasonable, it must be necessary and justified. The threat must be imminent and unavoidable. You are to strike until the threat is stopped meaning you can’t keep beating the crap out of them if they are no longer trying to harm you. The purpose is to quickly inflict pain so they stop the attack then you can safely evacuate the danger zone and get home safely.
In beginners classes we address how to escape from chokes, headlocks and bear hugs. Advance classes include knife and gun defense. It’s a great workout, a lot of fun and teaches you how to survive in a potentially violent world. Crime does not discriminate against social class, gender, or race so you need to know how to defend yourself. I wish you were in the Jax area so you could attend our women’s self defense seminar this coming Friday.
I think there is place not far from where I live that teaches this. I’ve seen the signs but I didn’t know what it was, so I didn’t pay attention. Now I think I might have to check it out.
