On the show today, when Will asked about her Thanksgiving, Marlena said she went to Carrie and Austin’s to help cook.  Did they cook Thanksgiving dinner on a hot plate in Austin and Carrie’s hotel room???

John being in the hoosgow…and I don’t think she’s ever been much of a Martha Stewart type either…maybe she meant help with ordering a gourmet Thanksgiving dinner delivery?

A lot of hotel rooms are equiped with a small microwave and refrigerator.  Swanson or Banquet come to mind.

It seems as though Will held back a laugh about that remark too.  Her cooking skills are legendary.

lying to him and he knew she was.  I’m betting there wasn’t much of a Thanksgiving at all for her.

cook.  My DIL is the same way.  I can’t imagine getting married and raising a family without cooking.  I would think take-out all the time would get very boring, let alone, expensive.

I’m teaching my g.daughter to cook (she’s 10 now) so she can make dinner once in a while.  The funny thing is, my g.son (he’s 8) is the one who really likes to cook.  He wants to be a chef.  And I don’t have to teach him, he just does it.  Two years ago he wanted an Easybake Oven for Christmas.  Now he says that’s "kid stuff" and wants to use the real thing.

So far he’s mostly into baking but I’m sure it won’t be much longer until he wants to "cook"  also.

BonBon……I have Guy Fieri’s (Diners Drive-In’s and Drives, Guy’s Big Bite, first Food Network Star) cookbook (Cookin It Livin It, Lovin It) and it tells a bit of his biography.  He started just like your grandson.  When he was little he’d cook meals for the family, often making hs own recipes and was good at it.  When he got older he started a restaurant with his friend and now has several in California that serve a lot of their own recipes.

I actually got the book to review http://whatsthatbuzz.myweeklybeef.com/2011/06/guy-fieri-food-cookin-it-livin-it-lovin.html and posted a couple of the recipes.  The garlic bread is excellent.
