What in the hell was that? Are they kidding? Is she kidding (or was she just being facetious when she looked pleased)? Is Vivian crazier than any of us even imagined? All Mel needed was a huge white bow in her hair, some tap shoes, and a lollipop and she could have been cast in the remake of Whatever Happened to Baby Jane! (LMAO)!!
January 22, 2010 at 3:38 pm #9900IzzyBParticipantIt looks like a nightgown, not a wedding dress – lol
January 22, 2010 at 3:40 pm #9901BonbonParticipantI’m glad I wasn’t the only one. I ocassionally watch "Say Yes to the Dress" and I’ve NEVER seen such a horrible one on there. Maybe if they were eloping to Las Vegas (as originally planned) it would go well with an "Elvis Wedding" but, geeze, let’s dress that girl up a little bit.
January 22, 2010 at 4:31 pm #9902GoodyParticipantlooked good at all. If this wedding takes place, surely a family with such wealth can find a better looking dress.
Goody
January 22, 2010 at 5:07 pm #9904devorrahParticipantI 100% agree it was awful. It would be a nice dress to take on the honeymoon but not to get married in. It was short for goodness sake. It was the first dress she ever tried. Melanie is so totally immature at all times and this marriage would be such a disaster. Why does Phillip even like her as they have NOTHING in common and he is much too old for her? I really enjoyed the relationship between Melanie and Nathan. Too bad they couldn’t have dated for a longer time. I see nothing between Stephanie and Nathan to warrant any relationship there either.
January 22, 2010 at 5:29 pm #9905BonbonParticipantI don’t think we’ve seen the last of Nathan and Melanie. They’re throwing too many clues at us to think it’s over…on both sides, Mel AND Nathan. Mel is trying to convince herself that Philip is the right guy for her…money, good looks, powerful family, etc., etc., etc. But I still think Nathan has her heart.
Conversly, I think Nathan is just using Stephanie as a means to forget about Mel, which we all know isn’t possible.
January 22, 2010 at 5:59 pm #9906DeeLanParticipantMy opinion, Melanie doesn’t think she’s good enough for Nathan. Because of her he’s been arrested twice. Phil is a rich kid with connections on the other side of the law so she can’t corrupt him any more than his father has.
January 22, 2010 at 6:21 pm #990753tdogsParticipantwho picked out the dress…Ms. Over-the-top-fashionista herself – Vivian. Now that lady has had some very strange getups in the past. (Although, lately she has toned it down). Mel always had her own sense of fashion, and was pretty put together most of the time – so, I’m not sure why she acquiesed to Vivy’s fashion (or lack of fashion) sense. And you are so right Patti – Vivian is certifiable!
January 22, 2010 at 7:22 pm #9909lugosi1978ParticipantAWFUL dress.
January 22, 2010 at 8:37 pm #9912majencoParticipantNot for a wedding gown but maybe as a little summer dress.
January 22, 2010 at 8:50 pm #9913BonbonParticipantBut didn’t you get the idea that Melanie is beginning to bond with Aunt Vivy? I wonder what’s going to come of that. That would really burn Carly if Vivian were to become a mother figure to her. Look how she went off when she thought Viv and Vic were going on the honeymoon with them.
BTW, since when did Victor have a yacht? Gee, I wish I could meet him.
January 22, 2010 at 9:03 pm #9918IzzyBParticipantto me is a personal choice and I don’t think it shows immaturity. It shows your sense of style, which apparently is nothing for her – lol
As for the first dress, I actually wore the first dress I tried on for my wedding. I did try on 5 other dresses, but the first was always the one for me. My mom was shocked, she thought for sure it would take me FOREVER to find a dress. Of course she went through a lot with my sister and finding a dress, so I think she was expecting the same thing for me.
Now I do agree, that Mel belongs with Nathan.
January 22, 2010 at 10:29 pm #9920caseyParticipantthat such a dress would be offered up as a custom wedding gown from some haute couture European designer.
Days must be really pinching the pennies to make us believe that one. Yes, a nice airy dress to wear as a guest to a summer wedding. But hardly a show stopper. It sure looked like a number Days could afford to throw coffee on!
How far we’ve come from Hope’s legendary stunner years ago.January 23, 2010 at 12:32 am #992353tdogsParticipantwith a tree if it treated her like a mother. The poor girl is seriously needing a mom – has all her life so it doesn’t surprise me that she is clinging to Vivy as a mother figure right now especially, with her upcoming nuptials. It makes sense that Mel would gravitate to Vivi.
Victor should know better than to horn in on the honeymoon, (with Vivy I don’t expect much – she’s always going where she’s not wanted)…I thought Victor was/is filthy rich, like Stepahno, and he is a Greek shipping tycoon (like Aristol was), because remember a few months ago, when there was a shipment (drugs?) coming in and Phillip had to go and take care of "the cargo" on one of their ships? (Or am I hallucinating again?)
January 23, 2010 at 12:52 pm #9928SWParticipantsimilar to the stories that have been in the paper of a honeymooning couple and one "accidently" falls over board, never to be seen again?? Vic doesn’t like Melanie and he’d be more than happy to see her lost at sea! He might even have Vivian framed for it so he could kill two birds with one stone.
