After Bristol’s performance last night, I’m at a loss to figure who’s going to go home tonight. It seems like she has a lot of fans that just may keep her going.
And what a surprise to see the low scores Jennifer and Derek got. Other than their little bobble at the end, I thought she was very good but what do I know? After them being in the bottom three last week, it would be the biggest shock in the history of the show if they went home tonight. But I wouldn’t feel bad if they do. As I’ve said before, I really don’t like Jennifer and Derek has won twice now and I sometimes think he’s a little to enamored with himself.
I was reading in the Sunday paper how much money these stars get for the show. The winner ends up with $325,000 so they’re not killing themselves for that cheesy little mirror ball. It’s a graduating scale. They get $10,000 each for the first two shows, $20,000 for the next two and it keeps going up every week they stay on after that. I figured that Briston has already amassed a little over $100,000 so far. Not bad for a 19-year old with no job.
After seeing Bret Michaels last night, I’d love to see him on DWTS next time. I absolutely loved him on Celebrity Apprentice. He came across as a really nice, caring, and intelligent guy. Not at all what I expected him to be.
October 26, 2010 at 12:45 pm #17361caseyParticipantI’m hoping this past year of life threatening illnesses has cemented his relationship w/the mother of his kids. After seeing his show, I’m at a loss to figure why he would stray from this drop dead gorgeous, seemingly level-headed, caring woman who has put up w/ his philandering for 16 years!
October 28, 2010 at 1:18 am #17407luckeyParticipantreally is a shame that talent is so totally ignored for popularity. Yes, Bristol did better on Monday, but her overall performance has been under par where Audrina has done exceptionally well when compared to Bristol. But, I should know by now that talent is secondary. Oh well.
October 28, 2010 at 8:45 pm #17422caseyParticipantI wouldn’t guess so many of the heavy voting block would be that interested to keep her just because of her mother. And does she have that scintillating of a personality?
October 30, 2010 at 5:02 pm #17499PattiParticipantto comment on this ridiculous outcome. Not only is Audrina a beautiful young woman, but the lady could DANCE. Her chemistry with Tony was breathtaking at times, or doesn’t that matter anymore? Bristol, on the other hand, no matter how hard she tries, always looks like she’s scared to death, and her movement on the floor, although some veeerrrrry slight improvement may be evident, still leaves me a bit stiff (pun intended). There is absolutely no way anyone could convince me that her mom’s popularity isn’t rubbing off on her, and I’ve even seen references in mom’s speeches to DWTS, and giving a "". Gotcha’ Sarah. Too bad, Audrina — you and Tony did not deserve this, and even Len had to agree.
November 2, 2010 at 2:04 pm #17596PattiParticipantit is definitely time for Bristol to leave. There just is no change or development to her. She’s still stiff as a board, and looks like she’s scared to death. Even Mark has to remind her to smile. There isn’t one contestant from last night’s competition that should go instead of her tonight, and if they do, I’m sorry, but this show has become nothing more than a popularity contest, just like American Idol. Time to stop the nonsense and send the right people home. There is absolutely no way on earth that Audrina should have gone home last week. I was so saddened by her dismissal. Good luck Bristol, but you have to see it for yourself if you want to be honest. If not, read some internet boards and the truth should set you free.
November 3, 2010 at 2:17 am #17625luckeyParticipanthave happened. Bristol is still there and Rick Fox went home! Totally ridiculous! Wrong! Wrong! Wrong!
November 3, 2010 at 1:40 pm #17638caseyParticipantcaught Donny Osmond’s assessment on Entertainment Tonight and he thought Bristol aquitted herself fairly well this week.
November 3, 2010 at 1:56 pm #17641KseeParticipantBret who? are we still talking about DWTS
November 3, 2010 at 2:29 pm #17647BonbonParticipantHe was a guest singer on the show.
November 3, 2010 at 2:35 pm #17651PattiParticipanthere we are in the middle of elections results, and Bristol Palin gets through again. Talk about the popular vote — LOL!
November 3, 2010 at 2:37 pm #17652BonbonParticipantI can’t believe this, What is going on that they are voting out the better dancers and keeping the worst? I’m beginning to think this show is fixed. Not that I’m sad to see Bristol still on but, really, she should have been gone three shows ago. You can tell that nobody was more shocked that Mark.
But Fox? I thought he should have gone to the final three. He’s better than Bristol, the young boy, and the football player. (Where is my brain this morning that I can’t remember names?) I guess it proves that football players have more fans than basketball. And every single person in Alaska must be voting for Bristol (which probably isn’t too far fetched).
Note: I think everybody expected Jennifer to be a shoo-in but it looks now like Brandy will really give her a run for her money. I hope so because I’d really like to see Maks win one for a change instead of coming in second for a fourth time.
November 3, 2010 at 2:39 pm #17653KseeParticipantOH shoot , I was watching it in bed and kept dozing off must of missed him!
November 4, 2010 at 1:18 pm #17706ellenkbParticipantThat’s very interesting – some of them are trying to make a comeback so I am sure they appreciate the money. I am sure their travel expenses and other living expenses are covered as well (or maybe not??)
I wonder what the pros get paid and if they also make more depending on how far they get. Seems like some of them always get stuck with the older stars and get booted early. Years ago ballroom dancing pros did not make much – if they were superstars they could win big bucks at international competitions, but most of them earned their living running dance studios. Also, they had to shell out a ton of money for their own coaching, transportation to competitions, hotels, shoes, costumes, etc. I think it’s great they are now in the spotlight and able to make some real money. They train just like professional athletes but until the last 8-10 years have never gotten the pay or public recognition.
November 4, 2010 at 9:47 pm #1773053tdogsParticipantdance show that was a big hit? (Sort of like AI only for dancing?) I watched one year about two or three seasons ago and the routines that the dancers came up with were amazing. One couple had such a great number that it brought tears to my eyes the story of the dance they did told that much and they brought up such emotion. Even the judges were teary-eyed — now that is dancing!
