ParticipantSo who has has gone out and bought some Nature’s Valley grain nuts, or whatever they’re called?
(I think they should have a Sami promotion code.)
They did this a few years ago on Smallville with a certain gum I will not speak of. I generally despise this kind of advertising, but knowing Days could probably use the money, I’m willing to give a bit on this. That said, however, it would have been nice to wait until Alice’s services were over.

ParticipantI thought that was cheesy too. Product placement is notorious in movies, but in a soap now?
Obviously Nature Valley must be a sponsor or will offer the show some money for the plug.
Maybe they will do this one day with condoms that nobody in the show seems to wear anyway. Imagine someone holding up a box of condoms and saying something like. "Wait let me slip into this (insert brand) condom. Goodness only knows we need to spare Salem from another genius, that will be 5 years old within the first trimester."
Oh for the good old days of the soaps, so innocent and so realistic. I was so loving these flashbacks of Mrs. Horton and the interaction with the cast members who have returned. Savor these moments everyone, because they are long gone and today’s writing is a shoddy excuse for plot development.

ParticipantDoes anyone else think Allie was having trouble with the line and Sami stepping in wasn’t in the script. I mean what kid tells you the entire name of a treat including brand name.

ParticipantI know, it looked like Allison saved that kid poor kid from the advertiser! And thankfully she had an extra bag in her purse, no less!

ParticipantI love your comment about the kid being 5 by the first trimester!
It made me think, do we ever see kids from say the ages 5-15 on soaps like Days? It seems like one episode they’re running around chasing bugs and then the next they’re chasing the opposite sex.
I guess once they get old enough to talk they don’t consider the characters to have anything interesting to say until they’re teens??

ParticipantHow about when they zoomed in on the package Allie was holding. She said "it’s delicious" as she unfolded the top so it could be seen better. I wonder who was on the sidelines coaching her.

ParticipantA product placement merely appears in the scene where you can see it and it shows the brand name. This was an outright commercial where they spoke of the product and praised it.
