What the heck happened to him? I’m a little lost. What were his big revelations? Besides EJ really being a Dimera, what else did he tell everyone that was so important? Also, what was the story behind the coin? You can tell I just have a hard time watching him. Lastly, where did Stefano go?
September 1, 2012 at 2:43 pm #35335PattiParticipantwas Ian’s mother, and another of Santo DiMera’s mistresses. Ian said she was promised half of the DiMera fortune for what Ian believed to be their child (Ian), but no proof has yet to come out that Ian is in fact a DiMera. All this was done because Ian was a DiMera in his OWN mind, so he decided to take what he believed was meant for him, and in turn give it to Madison, his only true love. Other than that, it was all about Ian really loving Madison, and by taking what be perceived to be his birthright, he set everyone up by framing E.J., and then revealing Stefano was alive; that Ian had traveled practically around the world to find a Stefano look-alike (which I thought was cheesy), then duped him into helping Ian fool everyone. Unfortunately, for the imposter, Ian killed him. It was the imposter’s body in the chair, not Stefano, whom Ian had kidnapped beforehand. Ian taunted E.J. how easy it was to switch blood-tests to fool everyone into believing the body in DeMansion was Stefano who was killed (which is why the hospital revealed to Roman and Rafe and Spencer that Stefano and E.J.’s blood were not a match and that E.J. was not Stefano’s bio-son), and then reminding E.J. that he should know how easy it was to switch a blood-test (making me believe Johnny may not be E.J.’s but Lucas’). I think there is still a whole lot more to this story to be told. For instance, I believe that was not the real letter from Alice in the safe-deposit box, and that Ian somehow had that switched out too. I believe that Alice’s real secret is yet to be told, but when it is revealed it will prove not what but WHO, in fact, Alice was protecting and what she was really holding over Stefano’s head. This last part is speculation and JMO, but I’d almost be willing to bet there is still a lot more to this story and that what we have seen so far may be just the tip of the iceberg.

How would Ian know that everyone in Salem would drop by to try to kill "him"? And if he placed the letters in the envelope, does that mean that Hope and John are not married? Why would Ian give a hoot about them, if he was just out to get the DiMera fortune, or did he know what Steffie had done with Hope and that she knew about the Fabrege egg? Oh, I get so confused about these webs of deception.
Anyone?
September 1, 2012 at 2:49 pm #35337BonbonParticipantI think Ian forged the letter to get the ball rolling on whole plan and that Alice never wrote any kind of letter at all. Of course it does leave it open for the writers to come up with something different sometime in the future and then refer back to this one.
And I wish they would stop trying to use blood testing to prove parentage. A father and son do not have to have the same blood type. In fact, I’m so surprised that EJ didn’t insist on a DNA test (which in Salem is practically worthless anyway the way they get switched around) when Stefano told him he wasn’t his biological son.

It would seem to have been before John was conceived with Colleen Brady. As to the letters, I suspect that they were both fake. I’d also like to know when Stefano was taken and substituted. The real Stefano should have known if John/Hope weren’t married and therefore sending them to Aremid would make no sense. But Susan should also have been involved due to the claim of EJ being sick as a child etc.
Sometimes I just feel like it’s all a change of writers, change the stories, make things make little sense, age and de-age kids to the point of ridiculousness, etc!
September 2, 2012 at 1:00 pm #35356BonbonParticipantand Yvette but I think they are two different people. They should have used a different name for Santos’ lady.
September 2, 2012 at 1:56 pm #35357PattiParticipantthe fake baroness Justin found and brought to Salem to entice Victor, but she would up falling for John Black (who was then Roman Brady). Same name, different person.

For example the cane that Ian carried had the sign of the Phoenix and was suppose to be revealed in the story. this seemed to be dropped when the new writers came on board. I also feel that they decided to shorten the story and that made it hard to follow. it seems too rushed in ending the story, leaving many questions unanswered and threads detached.
I am not sure how the letters play into this. Obviously, Alice’s letter was a fake, but is there another letter>? What about Stefano’s letter–fake or real? (Also with Bo leaving, it coudl change the original plan).
Guess we will have to be patient and wait to see what happens next.
