Just wondering what new fall shows you all are going to watch. I think the new comedy’s look funny. the one on NBC, Whitney. i think the other one on fox looks better though. the one wth the girl and the 3 male roommates. I doubt I’ll watch the new dectective show on nbc. I’ll definetly watch the X-factor and probably the sing off. I started watching the Sing off last year but didnt finish it. which shows are you looking forward to?
September 16, 2011 at 9:10 pm #26556BonbonParticipantThe Little Couple and 19 Kids and Growing. Also, all the primetime network shows are coming back so I’m sure my DVR is going to have quite a workout. Looking forward to Hawaii Five Oh, Bluebloods, Body of Evidence and others.
I will NOT watch any of the sitcoms because I find them extremely stupid and I can’t stand to listen to laugh tracks.
September 17, 2011 at 12:13 am #26570caseyParticipantis my fav. I don’t watch any dramas or sitcoms.
September 17, 2011 at 1:11 am #26577DeeLanParticipantThe new shows don’t look interesting to me but I’ll probably check out a couple to fill the void of cancelled shows.
I’m looking foward to the return of
The Mentalist, Blue Bloods, Gene Simmons Family Jewels and I’m sure there are other’s I’m missing Already watching Billy the Exterminator and started watching Pawn Stars
September 17, 2011 at 11:40 am #26586BonbonParticipantwatched a similar one this summer, Extreme Somthing-or-other, which was very good so I might give it a try. The only problem is, it’s usually on when other shows I watch are on, I think on Sunday night.
Another one I’m looking forward to is the one with Maria Bello, forget the name right now but she’s plays a rough and tumble cop. The previews look very interesting.
September 17, 2011 at 1:21 pm #26588MKParticipantBesides watching The Middle and Modern Family, I too find most of the sitcoms stupid and just not funny as if they’re trying too hard. I won’t watch any of the new sitcoms (and I couldn’t even stand seeing the promo for Whitney during Days on the bottom left of the TV screen-she kept popping up with a weird smirk and twisting and turning–I was so annoyed by that!) but am interested in Terra Nova, the show about time travel and dinasours. I also might try watching the new Prime Suspect and perhaps Pan Am which I think will be on after Desperate Housewives, which I also watch. I watched the Ringer on Tuesday night. Still way too early to see if I’ll like it. It seems just okay right now. And with all of my "old" shows returning and some cable shows that are still one, I don’t know how I’m going to watch everything!
September 17, 2011 at 1:35 pm #26589DebbiParticipantI hate those pop ups on TV now, during the show. I don’t care what show it is, there are those annoying pop ups for another show. They drive me nuts!
September 17, 2011 at 2:22 pm #26590PattiParticipantLast night I watched the premier of The Secret Circle. Shelly Henning looks terrific, and she is the head witch. It’s an inherited society of young men and women who inherited the powers of the some good, some evil parents, and needed one final girl to complete their coven of power. Last night was her story and how she came to live with her grandmother in the same town where they all live, after her mother was killed. Enough said, but I really liked it. Of course, I’m partial to these kind of shows, like Supernatural, so I knew I would like this one, since it got very good reviews. Shelly Henning (Stephanie Johnson) looked beautiful, as expected, and very much as she did on DOOL, down to the length and style of her hair. She is a terrific actress and I think this show, like Supernatural, will be successful … at least I hope it will.
There are many others that look interesting to me and I plan to either watch them, record them, or put them on the Xfinity Watchlist, where you can tag the show’s date and time and then watch at your leisure. Right now I’ve tagged Dirty Soaps and Boardwalk Empire, and Comcast will remind me when the show comes up on my watchlist. It’s a really good feature offered by Comcast’s Xfinity.
September 17, 2011 at 3:36 pm #26596caseyParticipantwas good but I think if you tune into Amazing Race, you’ll see why it won Emmys. And what I like is you get to see foreign locales, and not just the famous spots.
September 17, 2011 at 3:37 pm #26597caseyParticipantooh yeah. I get a kick out of that family – very entertaining.
And Gene Simmons FINALLY proposes to Shannon.September 17, 2011 at 4:34 pm #2659953tdogsParticipantfind anything that you like to watch this fall yet…I’m going to recommend a terrific book. It is out now in the theaters as well. I didn’t read the book as most of the books I purchase (or rent from library) are from Audible.com (no commercial here – you can get at library too). But I highly recommend reading it, or in this case listening to it on MP3 or CD form – The book is on the NYT Best seller list and just about every other best seller list and reader review. I could not put it down and had to "reread" it immediately again for the sheer fact that it was such a great book and neither could any of my friends. I recommend Audible because they have actors who act the parts and you get more out of the voices of the women.
"The Help" by Kathryn Stockett – from Publishers Weekly "set during the nascent civil rights movement in Jackson, Miss., where black women were trusted to raise white children but not to polish the household silver. Eugenia Skeeter Phelan is just home from college in 1962, and, anxious to become a writer, is advised to hone her chops by writing about what disturbs you. The budding social activist begins to collect the stories of the black women on whom the country club sets relies and mistrusts enlisting the help of Aibileen, a maid who’s raised 17 children, and Aibileen’s best friend Minny, who’s found herself unemployed more than a few times after mouthing off to her white employers. The book Skeeter puts together based on their stories is scathing and shocking, bringing pride and hope to the black community, while giving Skeeter the courage to break down her personal boundaries and pursue her dreams. Assured and layered, full of heart and history, this one has bestseller written all over it"
September 17, 2011 at 6:24 pm #26602DebbiParticipantGreat book and loved the movie too!! One of my two favorite books from last year. I also loved the book, Sarah’s Key from last year. (I read both of them last year, sorry).

September 18, 2011 at 1:12 am #26615luckeyParticipant"Last Man Standing" is entertaining. "Pan Am" has peaked my interest too. And, of course, the return of "Blue Bloods" is at the top of my list.
September 18, 2011 at 11:20 am #26622BonbonParticipantif Brothers and Sisters is returning? I see they’ve put another show in their time slot plus one of the main characters is now starring in Revenge. I really liked that show and will be very disappointed if it doesn’t return.
