Patti and Casey, none of us went to bed happy last night. The only good thing was the Pack had a bye week. The Jags stunk up TIAA Field yesterday. I thought the D would at least have a good showing considering how many times Watson had been sacked so far this season, but their performance was lackluster as well. I’m not sure that Kessler is the answer at QB. Rex Ryan broke down Blake’s mechanics on ESPN’s morning show and there’s a definite difference in last year and now, but I’d like to see what he was doing vs. the Patriots in week 2. Blake was awesome in that game and I just wonder why it went to crap the following week.
October 22, 2018 at 1:07 pm #54890caseyParticipantis a quandary. He had a great season last year but helped greatly by that stellar D. He would have to show me more to convince me he can be consistently capable. The Bills are simply an awful offense and I’m highly skeptical young Allen can escape his inaccuracy of college. To demonstrate how bad the O is – no offensive production has been worse since – wait for it – 1941!!
And Patti, what a heartbreaking loss!!
Meanwhile, how entertaining is KC? They are an offensive dynamo and Mahomes is truly special. If anyone saw the profile of his youth he could have been a force both in baseball and basketball. They showed a video of him at 8 years old nailing a half court shot to win the game!October 22, 2018 at 1:59 pm #54892PattiParticipantwe needed one; the old one was getting too crowded;
Heavy hearted today, but nowhere near, I’m sure, as much as Justin Tucker. First EVER missed PAT. I know at some point it had to happen, but it hurts when it does. Justin blames himself for the loss, even though there’s no guarantee we would have won in OT; but, I get his point, at least we would have had the chance to win it.
Sorry for the losses suffered by the Jags and the Bills as well. Fortunately, we didn’t lose ground in our division, with the fabulous Kansas City Chiefs crushing the Bengals, the Browns losing by a field goal, and the Steelers in their bye week.
At this point all I can say is "better luck next week!"
October 29, 2018 at 3:53 pm #54930PattiParticipantwhen I turned on Good Morning Football, scratched my head and asked myself…. "WHAT DA’ HELL HAPPENED????" I’m forced to agree now with the sports critics who say "perhaps the Ravens are just another 500 team afterall" and it breaks my heart. If a player or two looks bad, or a coach calls a play that goes to hell in a handbasket, or even if somebody on your special teams isn’t doing his job, or the penalties are relentless, whether they’re deserved or not, then I can excuse it and move on; but, when your entire team takes a spanking like the Ravens got from a rock solid performance by the Panthers yesterday, I have to wonder if we, the Ravens fans, are just kidding ourselves. I sure hope not. Some heads should seriously roll this week before we get the same punishment from the Steelers next week.

October 30, 2018 at 9:26 am #54934powerpaw2Participantto both of my gridiron sisters. Hopefully next weekend will be better for us. LOL, the Jags are off so they can’t disappoint on the field.
October 30, 2018 at 1:10 pm #54935caseyParticipantabout the Bills is a great defense but literally NO offense.
November 19, 2018 at 10:59 pm #55001caseyParticipantAnd how did the rookie QB look to you?
November 20, 2018 at 2:45 am #55002powerpaw2ParticipantJags are toast, the Pack has only a snowball’s chance in hell of making the playoffs, so I need to figure out who to root for.
November 20, 2018 at 3:38 pm #55006PattiParticipantsince everyone we needed to lose did exactly that on Sunday. The Ravens now have taken over the 6th spot in possibilities for going to the playoffs. I’m not getting them up too high though. I still am a great believer of "any given Sunday". I feel like no matter how bad a team looks from one week to the next, they are still professionals when they go out there on game day, so I’m not ready to give up yet. The only thing we have to worry about right now is getting a win over the Raiders, who did manage to win on Sunday, so just because they’re now 2 and 8, it proves my point about week to week play.
As far as Lamar Jackson’s rookie performance, I think the whole team was as happy with his first win as the fans. I know John Harbaugh could not stop tooting his praises for the young man. As for me, I’m just happy to know we have three able QB’s ready to step into action when called on. We are very fortunate to still have that in the case of an injury, while lots of teams are not. The thing I love most about Lamar is his ability to scramble to get out of tough situations and still get the play off. He’s quite a talented young man in that department. His athleticism is off the charts, and once he finds a hole, the only place he’s going to be looking is behind him.
Unless Joe’s injury is more severe than has been reported, I look for him to be back in action in another week or two.
November 20, 2018 at 10:26 pm #55007powerpaw2ParticipantPlease send a capable QB to Jax as well as an O-line. Blake doesn’t have much in receivers and he is not Aaron when it comes to making chicken salad out of chicken ****.
