I sure hope she’ll get better because she totally over acted every scene she was in yesterday. I know I’m used to Missy and it’s always hard to get used to a new actress, but I’d heard this actress was so great. Instead, I feel like I’m hearing "acting" in every scene and it doesn’t seem natural. Has anyone else seen this actress on another show? Does she always sound/act like this?
November 1, 2020 at 7:42 pm #57516scarlettParticipantI haven’t seen anyone discussing why Melissa Reeves left, probably because nobody wants to start a fight. I totally agree, this new actress is pretty bad.
November 1, 2020 at 10:41 pm #57517bluebonnetParticipantI think her leaving was because of Covid worries in general and especially now that she is around her grandbaby. She lives in Tennessee and has been flying back and forth to film, so I read that she also wants to spend more time at home with her new grandbaby. Not sure if those are the only reasons. There may be others that we aren’t hearing about.
November 2, 2020 at 1:01 am #57518goodolddaysParticipantI sure hope she returns at some point. Jack and Jennifer were my favorite couple and I was so glad to have them back. But I don’t like her replacement at all.
November 2, 2020 at 3:16 pm #57519mommytutuParticipantShe lives in TN. She has to fly weekly to be with family and then work. Her daughter also just had a baby and Missy didn’t want to take the risk of getting Covid and having to quarantine either from family or from work.
November 4, 2020 at 12:15 am #57520JSLParticipantFrom what I’ve read, Missy Reeves doesn’t keep her political comments to herself and a bunch of fellow Days actors were refusing to work with her. That’s the rumor anyway but I can see the Tennessee rumor being true too. I also read that it’s very temporary, thank goodness.
November 4, 2020 at 2:49 pm #57521mommytutuParticipantI read what actually happened and she happened to "like" a tweet from Candace Owen, who is a black conservative. That’s the controversy. How sad that people can’t have a political opinion or persuasion without being crucified for it. I hope the cast isn’t that narrow minded.
November 4, 2020 at 10:41 pm #57522MKParticipantI read the same thing, mommytutu. Just because she "liked" a post from Candace Owens, some DAYS cast members were highly critical of her so yes, some of the cast members are that narrow minded. The most critical and vocal of her is the actress who plays Sarah. I don’t like intimidation and labeling. Don’t judge someone for having a political opinion. But sadly it is that way now. Thank God I am not like that, but I do get judged so I often keep my mouth shut. It upsets me but that is how our "open minded" society is now.
November 5, 2020 at 12:51 am #57523powerpaw2ParticipantThere are conservative actors, but they don’t speak up for fear of losing out on roles. I find it so hypocritical that those who scream about free speech and tolerance are generally the least tolerant. And the free speech is limited to that with which they agree.
November 8, 2020 at 8:22 pm #57530DeeLanParticipantI think this actress acts too old for the Jennifer we all know and love. Jennifer has never been that loud or in your face.
As far as the way society is right now is sad. I lost a cousin over the 2016 elections because I voted for a person she didn’t approve of. A cousin living in California and a staunch Democrat posted on FB the other day that she hates Republicans and could never be friends with one. I called her on it and she said that she makes an exception for me. I’m neither party but vote for who I believe is best for the job. I pointed that out and then told her that the prejudice she’s been accusing Trump of having is exactly what she’s doing now. As I said, I vote for the person I feel is best for the job FOR ME. I’m not saying who I voted for in either instance but I’m sure you can figure out who I voted for in 2016. I now refuse to discuss political opinions with people
November 9, 2020 at 3:33 pm #57531mommytutuParticipantWith everything you’ve said.
