Nick & the whole mess
For the life of me, I cannot fathom why the writers have not had any of the "guilty" parties stand up to Nick and say, "What about the fact that all of this happened because YOU TRIED TO RAPE GABI??!!" And, now that Sonny has gone all Kiriakis on Nick, shouldn’t he just go confide in Victor?! But the real question is…why do I keep watching??? (Sory I posted this on the Ben comments first…)
March 4, 2014 at 5:29 am #43008majencoParticipantIf they just stick together with the story, Nick has no way to prove that they threw him in the river. All they have to say is that he attempted to rape Gabi and she fought him off. If he then fell in the river and greetings guy pulled him out, so what? That doesn’t prove anything. Greetings obviously didn’t witness them throwing him in the river he merely pulled him out. It’s their word against a known stalker and ex con. Really the only incriminating evidence is the fact that Kate was sending texts from Nick’s phone but how could he even prove that it was her? Just deny and stick to the story people!
March 4, 2014 at 10:37 am #43010BonbonParticipantthat Percy DID see them throw him in the river. Even so, I’m getting really tired of listening to all his threats and innuendos. It’s really getting tiresome…all the way around. I was glad to hear Sonny, “go all Kiriakis on him.” (Too funny!)
March 4, 2014 at 1:20 pm #43011PattiParticipantit’s all about creating the drama. Any one of these people can easily get out of their situations when you think about it, although Percy did say in front of the three ladies that he saw them throw Nick into the river, which prompted him to rescue him in the first place. It’s the storyline itself that is incredulous for me. Even though Blake Berris is one of the best actors on DOOL, this kind of s/l only makes me dislike the character so much more than even his first time around, because this time he is much more than simply mean and hateful and manipulative, and a blackmailer, and he has nothing to offer me any reason to even root for him. But, then, it wouldn’t be a soap opera if everything went the way I wanted it. For me, one or two major villains is enough on any soap, thank you, but this show’s writers seem to thrive on them and refuse to ever let them die or be killed, and if they are killed off, it’s time for the ole’ back from the dead s/l….again. Just look how many villains we have now compared to other soaps. It’s ridiculous. I watch a soap for the fabulous people …. the couples I love and want to see together, happy and harmless and loving family and business related storylines, and where children are born because they are planned, but with a few entanglements in their parents’ love lives thrown in here and there. All that being said, however, the treachery that’s going on now with not only all the villains that we presently have, but the ones still yet to return to Salem, as well as the new ones yet to come, saddens me with not only the writers but SONY and Corday as well. Yet, here we are, getting ready to welcome Eve and Kristen back into our soap lives. Go figure!!! Guess there are too many people who love the villainous characters much more than I do.
March 4, 2014 at 1:31 pm #43012caseyParticipantfor me in the Nick SL is Blake’s outstanding portrayal. I enjoy watching good acting though really wanting him to be taken down. This must be a blast for him to play.
March 4, 2014 at 2:42 pm #43015BonbonParticipantthat with most of the other “baddies” we have on the show, we usually see a little glimpse of humanity within them someplace. I first noticed that with Angela Devereaux. As much as I hated that character we would occasionally see that she had a soft side to her. We’ve seen it with Victor when he was so bad, Stefano, Kristen and most all of them. But with Nick, I don’t see a single teeny bit of anything likeable about him. Even his so-called caring about Arianna seems false to me.
March 5, 2014 at 4:39 am #43022majencoParticipantI didn’t realize he saw them throw him into the river. Why hasn’t he gone to the police then? He’s now witholding information. Does he realize that they were trying to kill him? What’s in it for him? The money that Nick is going to give him for being his assistant? So ridiculous. Why woud the bird watching Santa Claus be so devious?
March 5, 2014 at 4:40 am #43023jessad7ParticipantPercy has pictures of them throwing Nick in the river. He showed them at Gabi’s apartment the day they were all there.
The one thing I can’t stand is the replay of Nick in Gabi’s room above the pub last Valentines Day. I cringe and look away every time they show it. I don’t know why it bothers me so much. I don’t see any sparks between the two of them and never really have. They keep comparing EJ/Sami and Nick/Gabi, but at least there is something between EJ and Sami, lust, kids, etc. I just see no reason at all why Gabi would be drawn to Nick. Gabi has been coerced into being with Nick by things he’s said or done, but never because she couldn’t resist him. It also seems forced in that she was so scared of being alone with him one day, then completely comfortable the next. I’m not sure anyone can relate to that.
Nick also threatened Gabi with the info about Melanie, but I don’t recall that being brought up since his return. I was also wondering why Sonny wouldn’t go to Victor after this. The scene with Victor and Nick right after he came back was a good one. I’d like to see more of that.
March 5, 2014 at 5:02 pm #43031majencoParticipantEither due to snowstorm coverage or the Olympics I missed the episode where Percy came to the apartment. No wonder I have been so confused. Thanks for clearing it up.
March 6, 2014 at 12:48 am #43043powerpaw2ParticipantI got to work this morning and a guy from another area sent me an instant message that read "greetings!".
March 7, 2014 at 8:07 pm #43082BrandyParticipantI really, really, like Nick (Blake). He is the most ultimate actor to me. I keep hoping he gets a break in the storyline, lol! I know it’s probably not going to happen, though.
