Why on EARTH did they give this actress the part? There is no way she can pull this part off. I know we don’t like to bash actors on here – and I am NOT doing that. But wow is she awful. It’s pretty clear she got the part b/c she looks like Bo and Hope. But was there NO ONE ELSE who looks like Bo and Hope.
Chase – Joey & Theo – all good. Claire – meh. Too bratty but the actress is just "meh for me."
But Viv as Cierra – terrible. I am not at all invested in her rape SL. This actress is in way over her head.
February 24, 2016 at 12:01 pm #50914mommytutuParticipantIt could be a good story, but the actress stinks. Where’s the part where we all are pulled into her story and are sad for her. I’m sadder for Theo because he can’t understand the change in Ciera. Although I have to say, she reminds me of Kristin Stewart. It doesn’t matter what the emotion is, we get the same bland expression.
February 24, 2016 at 1:57 pm #50915caseyParticipantprotested more during the rape? My problem with her is she is opposite the character of Ciara (btw what is the spelling?) as a child. Lauren was spicey and bold and so much more interesting. I don’t see this actress “carrying on the Bo mantle” at all. A kid of Bo and Hope should be feisty. When she first came on with daring to steal a jacket, I thought she would continue in that saucy way. But this Ciara is generally sleepwalking through the role. I understand all she has gone through with losing her father, the Aiden incident, etc, but that should only intensify her behavior.
She does resemble KS though and maybe she’s patterning herself after that similarly low key actress.February 24, 2016 at 3:25 pm #50916BonbonParticipantis why she isn’t telling Hope she was raped. At least tell US why she hasn’t..
February 24, 2016 at 4:45 pm #50919PattiParticipantVivian Jovanni is just not good enough to pull this part off. She is also beginning to annoy me by keeping this to herself and not telling anyone what happened to her. She’s even trying to convince Theo that maybe she’s just a "bad girl," and maybe that’s the writing, but the actress is making it very distressful to watch her through this sl. I’m growing tired of it already!
February 24, 2016 at 5:07 pm #50923dvalParticipantI cannot muster any sympathy for the character becasue I don’t feel any real emotion from the actress. It’s all on the surface, nothing underlying. Maybe she will improve but I simply think this storyline was beyond her ablities as an actress.
February 24, 2016 at 6:37 pm #50924lynnekarenParticipantI have always felt she’s awful in the part, gave her a chance and she’s still wooden. Now, I will say that the girl can cry. She is great when she’s crying and not speaking!!
And why isn’t she changing her clothes? Especially with a ripped skirt. Rape victims generally get out of them asap, (if they’re not taken by the police as evidence) and if they don’t immediately report it, they usually shower.
February 25, 2016 at 1:00 pm #50931mommytutuParticipantI was thinking the same thing. Why would she even want to leave those clothes on? Writers might want to do some research. A rape victim would have gotten out of those clothes ASAP and probably gotten rid of them.
February 26, 2016 at 1:08 am #50951justwonderingParticipantSorry but I cannot post new topics. I have a question aobut Chase. He said he was 18 and coluld leave. I thought they had just started high school. now they are 18? Wow that was fast!
February 26, 2016 at 1:01 pm #50955PattiParticipantfrom 16 to 18, AND they are allowed to drink alcohol. This is absolutely ridiculous. It was so weird to see Belle and Claire at the Edge of the Square and Claire boldly ordering a gin and tonic. I believe the law states that the legal age to purchase and/or consume alcohol in the U.S. is 21. As for the SORASING, to go from 16 to 18 just another stupid writing excuse to explain why they could be drinking. I just figured maybe it’s because they are writing the teens to be a really troubled group who will be facing real grown-up problems, and that’s fine, but it would have been better for me to just watch them be teenagers with nothing more than typical problems for now that most teens have with their parents, their peers, teen relationships, school problems, proms, etc., rather than have to watch them be rapists and murderers.

February 26, 2016 at 2:52 pm #50961dvalParticipantwhen Ciera told Theo or Hope was it that she would be 18 soon and she would be able to drink then. So now we know that Salem must be in Hawaii, I believe I heard, because I think tht is the only state that has a drinking age of 18. And I only am aware of that because I live in New Jersey and we have a senator who is trying to lower the drinking age to 18 and the comment was made that we would only be the second state to have the drinking age at 18.
February 26, 2016 at 3:22 pm #50963BonbonParticipantwhy are they still in high school?
And a comment about that party? OMG, how lame was that? I can’t imagine any teen being at something like that. And the dancing? How stupid?
