Her hysterical actions are driving me up the wall. First of all, if she had a stroke as severe as they’re making it out to be, she wouldn’t be talking at all. Her facial expressions are far from being stroke related and they are so grating on my nerves because you can see how forced they are. Yes, either cure her or kill her.
but I was just a bit surprised at Dr. Carly Manning’s line to Kayla when they were arguing and Carly said, "you should know, nobody has a stroke from getting excited." I’m certainly no physician, but I would think if you had a ticking time bomb in your head such as a blood clot, and went off on someone the way that Caroline went off on Victor, et al., in the Church, it would most likely hasten a cerebral hemorrhage, enough so as to cause a stroke. Way to read em’ doc.
And I’m not buying this whole issue of Vic/Mag jealousy and the old news “tragedy” of Vic being Bo’s biodad. I’d respect this much more if we’d seen Caroline going through an ongoing grief process over Shawn’s death and her conflict over the old flame Vic being available with Maggie coming into the mix. Because Days history has made a connection between Caroline and Victor which they totally shattered because of this paternity nonsense.
Caroline has now become a raving lunatic. I think this is where Days sorely misses Marlena in a counseling role. We could have seen a dialog that would have more realistically shown the progression that led to the stroke.
Right now I just find it annoyingly laughable.I’m sorry to have to disagree. Not all stroke victims have the drooping mouth and are unable to speak at all. Some do have a stroke that makes it difficult to form words or pick out the right word to use. A stroke after all is a brain injury and it just depends on what part of the brain is damaged as to what the effects are. They also gave her TPA right away which prevented further damage caused by the stroke so she could be up and have no physical signs of a stroke very soon. The effects could be evident to her such as some weakness or difficulty in forming words or some memory loss but just looking at her you might never be able to tell.
I’d also read that Peggy drew upon vivid memories of her aunt who’d suffered a stroke and the way she struggled with words and speach stood to her.
Actually, I think that Peggy is doing an excellent job as a stroke victim. The difficulty of forming words and grimaces looks very realistic. I feel she is doing a fantastic job.
As for motives, I feel that older people sometimes regret their past actions and often try to rectify their past mistakes. She has always regret her betrayal of Shawn and felt it was wrong for Bo to find out he was Victor’s son. I think she believes if she could do it again, she would never tell Bo. Her actions were her way to prevent what happened with Bo. She has a lot of anger towards Victor and his family.
She’s doing a nice job portraying a stroke victim, but I cannot stand the recent version of Caroline.
