Now that everyone finally finds out that EJ is not a DiMera what will become of him? Will this be the beginning of a redemption of sorts for EJ? Or will he simply form his own crime network and continue the DiMera legacy under the name ????????
If John is EJ’s father then we have the potential for another semi-icky relationshp between Sami and EJ…not really related but John is married to her mother. (Obviously we need some new blood in Salem…maybe all that inbreeding is why these people seem so slow at times, LOL?)
Reading Jason’s spoilers about the explosion, and seeing Sonny mention the smell of gas Friday, I was wondering what is going to happen to the Horton Town Square? They can’t possibly be going to demolish it so soon, can they? Or is it just gong to get roughed up a little bit?
Well I’m looking forward to this week and hopefully a really good cliffhanger on Friday.
July 23, 2012 at 4:09 pm #3448853tdogsParticipantI thought the "new blood" was all the folks that they are killing off in the explosion. There have been several of the characters written in and then written out just as quickly…I see you guysies commenting on characters I’ve never heard of over the last few months and then "poof" they are gone from the show. I think they would "rough" HTS up a bit (knock over a few trees, lights, tables) and then the next time they use the square (probably the next day) – it will look pristine again.
July 23, 2012 at 5:55 pm #34492BonbonParticipantremember how quickly they repaired the missing portion of the Bay Bridge after the earthquake?

I don’t see anything semi-icky about this. Was it semi-icky Roman was married to Kate?
July 23, 2012 at 9:43 pm #34500dvalParticipantUmmm sorry I seemed to have offended. Was just trying to be humorus. I was just referring to the fact that there seems to be a very limited circle of bloodlines in Salem and how close everyone is relationship wise. Like the storyline with whoever it was that everyone had such an opinion about, I can’t remember who they were now, but it was quite a subject on the board. Step siblings or something, I believe. Many people seemed to think it was nearly incestuous as I recall.
And well, yes it was semi-icky, or really icky, when Roman was married to Kate, but that’s just my opinion, LOL.
July 23, 2012 at 10:21 pm #34501BonbonParticipantI know we have discussed this before but I’m on the side that believes if there is no blood involved, then it’s perfectly okay. In fact, I don’t see anything wrong with second and third cousins getting together.
If anybody has watched My Big Fat American Gypsy Wedding, they make no bones about it, they seek out cousins to marry because they it can intensify bad genes. But, on the other hand, it can also intensify good ones. I personally think people make too much of this incestuous stuff.
July 24, 2012 at 1:59 pm #34516mommytutuParticipant53tdogs, you said they are killing off all of the new blood in the explosion. I haven’t heard of anyone dying, just people being injured. Who is scheduled to bite the dust?

July 24, 2012 at 5:08 pm #34530DeeLanParticipantI wasn’t offended just don’t see why this would be considered icky, semi or otherwise.
The relationship you’re talking about was probably Max and Chelsea and Max and Stephanie.since he was uncle to both by adoption.
I agree somewhat with Bonbon when she says as long as there’s no blood it’s OK. I feel even if there’s no blood if they were raised together in a brother/sister or uncle/niece relationship then it’s just awkward but in the case of Max and Chelsea, they didn’t know the other existed until after Chelsea was almost an adult. Max and Stephanie is hard to figure out because Stephanie didn’t grown up in Salem we don’t know what the relationship between her and Max were.
July 24, 2012 at 5:15 pm #34531DeeLanParticipantBonbon, agree to a point. It depends on the relationship they had growing up.
When I met Don I was introduced to him by my cousin and we were both in our 40’s. Little did I know my cousin was his aunt. My uncle had been married twice and Don was his grandson by his first wife. My mom never talked about my uncle’s first family and Don and his family never knew we existed. He grew up with my cousin and is only 3 years younger than her. I had a hard time realizing I was falling in love with my cousin or I should say "first cousin once removed". We checked it out legally and in most states it’s legal but in some you have to be past child bearing years or sign a document that you won’t have children. We checked it out biblically and in the bible they did marry close relatives.
I have a hard time looking at Don as my cousin since I didn’t grow up with him and if it weren’t for my cousin, his aunt, we wouldn’t have known there was any family connection. He did get a good laugh out of his mother when he called her after we got married and told her she was now his cousin. Then we tried to figure out how he was related to his daughter and he was now her cousin by marriage and if we would have had kids she’d not only be their sibling but also cousin. It can get confusing when you think about it so we don’t. When people ask how we met we just say he grew up with my cousin and she introduced us. It’s the truth but we leave out the fact that she’s also his aunt.
July 25, 2012 at 1:18 am #3455853tdogsParticipantMy crew (not me) was sent down with equipment and ‘man’-power for two months. Not saying they couldn’t rebuild Horton square fast, things just have a way of happening either at warp speed or are dismissed or glossed over in the SL completely at times.
As far as anyone’s demise in the explosion – just speculation and conjecture as I understand that a huge number of Salemites are going to be in the tunnel underground for whatever reasons the writers have given their characters for being down there. And I’ve heard about five folks are being written out, or off the show – what better way to tie up loose ends for the writers (however unforuitous)…in one fell swoop on the show.
July 26, 2012 at 3:44 pm #34609TopazParticipantThe location of the fundraiser in honor of Lexi’s memory may not be close to Horton Square–the tunnels may not run under the square as well.
July 26, 2012 at 9:08 pm #34622JohnnyboyParticipantJust guessing some of the casualities would be Madison, and by what has been noted it could be Jack.
Gabi? It would be nice. Beyond that who knows……
July 28, 2012 at 5:58 pm #34703DeeLanParticipantI’m thinking Andrew is one of them. He’s not a major character so his demise wouldn’t bother me.
July 28, 2012 at 5:58 pm #34704DeeLanParticipantI’d read the Horton Square collapses or sinks so the tunnels have to run under the square.
