Makin’ It Happen —- Our Orioles clinched the American League East Division Championship last night, beating the Toronto Bluejays 8-2, and the party hasn’t stopped since. It’s been 17 years since the O’s won our division, and 30 years since they won the World Series. ONE DOWN …… LET’S GO OOOOOOO’S ….. WE’RE SO PROUD OF ALL OF YOU!!!!!
September 17, 2014 at 12:36 pm #45283caseyParticipantI don’t get into BBall until the playoffs unless my Red Sox are involved. Always nice to see the Yanks eliminated.
Congrats to all the O fans!September 17, 2014 at 1:36 pm #45285PattiParticipantbetween the Orioles clinching our division last night, and the Ravens huge improvement last week in stomping on Pittsburgh, I feel like the City of Baltimore is beginning to see through the recent dark clouds and realize there are stars still shining out there for us. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THIS YEAR IN SPORTS FOR BALTIMORE!!! Now just hope we can keep it going!
September 24, 2014 at 3:31 pm #45365Carol JParticipantPatti, your Os look great.
September 24, 2014 at 10:21 pm #45368PattiParticipantthis season has been like heaven on earth for Charm City sports. Ouch to your Yankees, though, out of post-season after today’s O’s win. Kudos to Derek Jeter, though. Have to give him all the credit he so deserves. He spent his entire career in New York, and he’s as loved there as well as everywhere else, just like we love Cal here in Baltimore. I just hope we can continue playing in post-season the way we have played all season.

October 2, 2014 at 10:49 am #45444PattiParticipantOrioles/Detroit begin today. I know each and every team in these playoffs deserves to be here, so it’s going to be exciting to watch, especially since it’s been so long since the Orioles have been here. BUT, we earned that right this season too, so I’m so excited for our team.
GO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO’S!!!
October 3, 2014 at 10:26 am #45455PattiParticipantand the O’s not only get to Detroit’s best pitcher, Max Scherzer, but our bats were mighty and we crushed Detroit 12-3. Need to catch my breath, find my voice, and just hope we can continue this ride all the way to the end!!! WOW, WHAT A NIGHT!
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO O’S!
October 3, 2014 at 12:30 pm #45456caseyParticipantto watch a game as a rooter and not have to go through heart palpitations. Hope the O’s didn’t use up all their runs!
October 3, 2014 at 8:56 pm #45458PattiParticipantlooks like we saved just enough; O’s down 6-3 going into 8th inning today, and then the MAGIC happened…again… O’s win 8-7. I’m so happy to watch our guys enjoy this season, and our fans are over the moon. Hard to lose in that deafening “sea of orange” these past two days. Now a well deserved day of rest before taking on Detroit on their home field, where the O’s could possibly take this ALDS right to the next phase …. the ALCS. What a rush!!!
October 5, 2014 at 11:38 pm #45480caseyParticipantHey Patti, your O’s didn’t have much trouble downing the Tigers, so bet you’re pysched! Too bad last minute heroics didn’t happen for your Ravs.
Doing the happy dance myself with the Bills’ last minute 58 yard field goal win over the mighty Lions. First place – feels great!October 6, 2014 at 1:56 pm #45481PattiParticipantI was just going to post on our football thread and let you know it was my turn to congratulate you on your fabulous rejuvenated team. I’m sure it does feel great having the Bills in first place in your division. That’s quite an accomplishment. So happy for Buffalo … the team and the fans so deserve this improved team. My hat’s off to them for their performance, and glad for Buffalo fans as well.
Yes, our Orioles magic worked well for us in taking care of the Tigers by sweeping them with yesterday’s win. Now, hope we can keep the momentum going when we meet Kansas City for the ALCS, which starts here in Baltimore on Friday. Nice to have that home team advantage to start things off. So, by all means congrats to our teams by taking care of both Detroit teams yesterday.
The Ravens had a shot at coming back yesterday against the Colts. Neither team looked all that great yesterday, but we had a poor offensive showing, 3 turnovers and Joe got sacked 3 times as well. I’m surprised our new Offensive Coordinator, Kubiak, took to the air much more than on the ground, which he is known for, but I’m sure I’ll see that corrected next week.
Anyway, I’m happy for the Orioles and for your Bills for their respective wins yesterday. Continued good luck!!!
October 10, 2014 at 2:21 pm #45526PattiParticipantThe Orioles have come too far to lose home team advantage. I had to give my son a ride to work this morning after taking the kids to school. He works in the heart of the Inner Harbor, and at 9:00 a.m. this morning there were traffic cops on each and every corner downtown coming from every direction, which is not the norm. Took me forever to get him there and although a lot of that traffic was caused by people trying to get to work, I saw a huge amount of out-of-town tags, which I’m sure were fans arriving early to see the start of the ALCS. What a bummer if tonight’s game is rained out.
October 11, 2014 at 1:30 pm #45534PattiParticipant8-6 in 10 innings; but, what a great game!! Looking for much better results today. These 2 teams could not be more perfectly matched! I pick O’s to win in 6!!! Goooooo Oooooooo’s!!!!
October 12, 2014 at 11:43 am #45545PattiParticipantlost another nail-biter last night, 6-4 in the top of the 9th inning. Going to be hard to pull this out now, since next 2 games are in KC. Our pitchers don’t seem to be holding up as well as KC’s. Still holding onto my hope, though! Go O’s!!!
