So far I’m really liking Christopher Sean as Paul. I think the young man is a good actor, and he’s very convincing as a professional athlete who insists on remaining in the closet, but his determination to reconnect with Sonny is going to be the big s/l with the Will/Sonny relationship, I can see that coming right now. However, from yesterday I spot there will be some interest in Paul on Will’s behalf. Might just be the best s/l these writers have come up with in quite a while, because it hits on some very personal but current issues of today, not only with a gay man and his refusal to admit his sexual orientation, but also for a professional gay athlete hiding it for the sake of his job, plus a love triangle that just may be THE most interesting I’ve seen in a long while. So yes, I’m looking forward to this storyline, mainly because I’m not sure who’s going to cheat with whom, because I’m pretty sure someone will. Paul was so convincing with his pain in that last scene with Will yesterday. His tears said it all for me.
December 30, 2014 at 3:34 pm #46210justwonderingParticipantI am thinking that Will will try to "convince" Paul to come out. That is really ironic as Will was in for so long and Sonny never attempted to convince him to tell. Sonny said that it had to be Will’s decision. Will has a way of "spilling the beans" on many people. Soo much like Sami!!
December 30, 2014 at 11:16 pm #46211caseyParticipantPaul do now for work with his bball career seemingly over?
Will he be a joint owner of Sonny’s club?December 31, 2014 at 3:10 am #46212justwonderingParticipantThat could be interesting.
December 31, 2014 at 4:40 am #46214jessad7Participantcheat with Paul? Could be interesting to see what would happen with the Will/Sonny relationship after that. If Will doesn’t find out Paul is gay before the article is published, it could be interesting to see Sonny’s reaction when he finds out the subject of the article. Will would probably throw a hissy fit because he wasn’t able to break the news to the public.
December 31, 2014 at 4:44 am #46215shadowParticipantI can’t enjoy this Paul person. Just looking at him made me wish he would leave.
He sits up in the bed and pretended that he was a ladies man. But, it turns out that he is gay and he doesn’t want anyone to know. When Daniel told him he wouldn’t be able to play baseball. He threw a fit and act ed like a baby that lost his pacifier. He’ thinks it’s all about him He’s out for money. When the writers started a gay couple I held my tongue. Now it looks like they are going to push for more. It has become a fad and all these #$%%%% have jumped on the band wagon. I know I will probably be blasted for doing this.
But it is my privilege to speak up.December 31, 2014 at 2:16 pm #46217mommytutuParticipantI like the character of Paul. I think he acted just like a pro athlete would react. It’s those stages of mourning. Anger and denial come first. As for hiding the fact that he’s gay, that’s believable too. I live in UT now and can’t tell you how many obviously gay men and teens I’ve met, that hide their sexual orientation. They are married orhave girlfriends, etc. I grew up with several friends who hid their sexuality. I don’t think having gay characters on a show is hopping on a bandwagon. I think it’s just reality.
December 31, 2014 at 2:50 pm #46218justwonderingParticipantEveryone has an opinion and has the right to express it. I like Paul and I feel that he IS acting very realistically. Any professional athlete who wants to compete needs to guard his personal preferences. That is just the way it is. I agree that Paul went overboard with the ladies man act but that is part of a his cover.
As for his tears, he has discovered that he lost the love of his life (Sonny) cause of his profession and now he has lost that too.
January 1, 2015 at 2:40 pm #46219caseyParticipantabout this guy. He seems very immature, almost stalking Sonny and seemingly just dismissing the fact that Sonny is married. I’m surprised Paul is not getting multiple opinions on his shoulder but then Days does not want him in baseball.
I wonder if he will end up having relationships with both Sonny and Will? That could bring fireworks for sure.January 2, 2015 at 7:25 am #46220BonbonParticipantso they probably have to do something to shake things up. It would be interesting to see that happen, but then, that would destroy this couple just like they do every other one on the show. Has anybody, ANYBODY, not had an extra-marital affair?
January 2, 2015 at 3:23 pm #46224justwonderingParticipantI don’t think that Hope did while married to Bo until she ran away after weeing him with Billy. Then she was with Patrick.
What about Maggie or Alice?
January 2, 2015 at 3:58 pm #46225bluebonnetParticipantcheated on Mickey with Neil Curtis. She had an affair with Don Craig, too, at some point but not sure she and Mickey were married at the time or maybe she thought he was dead.
January 2, 2015 at 9:24 pm #46226dvalParticipantIt was his career that just went down the tubes. I kinda think he had a right to feel sorry for himself at least momentarily. I mean, wouldn’t you if you just found out you could no longer do that at which you excelled and loved doing? And just because he felt bad for himself for a while doesn’t make him a bad person who won’t bounce back in a while.
January 3, 2015 at 8:50 am #46228BonbonParticipantAlthough I can’t say I much care for this character, I think it’s reasonable to have that kind of reaction when you find your life-long passion and only source of income has been snatched right out of your hands. As for him being in it for the money, of course he is, isn’t that the reason everybody works? If you know there is a potential to make more than you currently do, who wouldn’t go for it?
But I really don’t like the way they are portraying his homosexuality though. He’s in love with Sonny, he makes googly-eyes with the bellhop and now he is coming on to Will? I mean come on writers, just because he’s gay doesn’t mean he’ll be attracted to every male that crosses his path. I think that’s the attitude homophobes have. Just because a guy is gay doesn’t mean he’s going to try and get you in bed. (Oh, oh, I’d better watch what I say here or I will incur the wrath of TFlo. :o)
January 3, 2015 at 2:19 pm #46231caseyParticipantsuperficial so far for me. Having any character appear so sex-obsessed is not very interesting. Unless of course we deleve deeper and find this behavior is an acting out of some past issue. Now if Days goes that way and explores something more profound could bewatchable.
