August 17, 2012 at 3:17 am #35003DPParticipantSo, lots of familiar names in/out. But, how does one decide to replace writers when their writing has barely even aired and you have no ratings to see how successful/unsuccessful that writing was received? Maybe I’m just naive?
August 17, 2012 at 12:28 pm #35008caseyParticipantthat we’ll see a righting of this long listing ship. It tells me there’s plenty of confusion at the top.
August 17, 2012 at 2:16 pm #35009PattiParticipantwith any new people at the helm, they bring their own people with them. Most of these are script writers and breakdown writers that T&W evidently have prior association and like what they saw, so they were hired to take the place of those who may not have such a bond with the new head-writers. Just as with the head-writers, and anyone experiencing new management, it’s out with the old, in with the new. I’m just wondering how this will affect the cast. Some writers love writing for certain characters; others, not so much. As long as the stories are entertaining, interesting, and keep me wanting to tune in, I don’t care who’s writing the show. I love certain characters, but if their story lines are boring, uninteresting, or the characters themselves are bludgeoned through bad writing, I don’t want to see them on my screen. I wish all the best to Gary and Chris and hope they can dislodge the doubt and criticism I’ve been reading on many boards. I’m willing to sit back, relax, and let the pros do the talking (writers AND actors).
August 17, 2012 at 3:02 pm #35012mommytutuParticipantIs this old news or are these new writers replacing the recently new writers? I’m so confused!
August 18, 2012 at 6:31 am #35033Jason47ParticipantThese are the writers who were hired in April…they are finally making their debut on-air four months after the fact, since "Days" tapes so far in advance.
August 18, 2012 at 12:35 pm #35039DPParticipantJason, are you saying this is the announcement announcing the arrival (and now viewing) of the writers who started in April? Or is this an announcement of the firing of the writers who started in April?
August 19, 2012 at 5:32 am #35062Jason47ParticipantThis is the April group debuting on screen August 17.
Real Life: Marlene/Darrell fired; Gary/Chris hired in April.
On Screen: Marlene/Darrell fired; Gary/Chris debut August 17.
August 19, 2012 at 9:48 pm #35069DPParticipantI was apparently a little slow on the understanding there!
August 19, 2012 at 9:50 pm #35070DPParticipantI apparently was a little slow on the understanding, but got it now!
