was terrific. What those kids did with actual parachutes that was their material for their first task was amazing. I can only imagine how difficult it was to work with that material. The winning outfit (forgot the designer’s name right now) was amazingly beautiful and the judges were spot-on with their critiques, as usual. The little blond who went home was so wrong to not include pants to her design. It looked like a bathing suit cover-up instead of a dress, and not much design in it to boot. Good first show, though.
July 21, 2013 at 6:21 pm #40490caseyParticipantand just caught the last 20 minutes. Hopefully, like they have previously done that first episode will be shown again next week.
July 21, 2013 at 9:14 pm #40491BonbonParticipantwearing the sparkly high heels? He took "sustainability" way too far. I was hoping he’d get the axe. And that blonde girl was making a raincoat, not a dress. I thought a couple of others were worse than hers.
I’m putting early money on the girl with the blonde dreadlocks. She looks like she has what it’s going to take.
July 21, 2013 at 10:43 pm #40495PattiParticipantwith those shoes on. Yes, I did like the blond with the dreadlocks. I think she’s going to be impressive. The one girl with all the tattoos is going to be trouble … you can just tell she has a bad attitude already. As for the gal who was sent home, yeah, that was supposed to be a dress, but it looked more like a beach coat to me, but what screwed her was that she didn’t make some pants to go with it; otherwise, she might still be there. What do you think of the Russian dude? That was some swimsuit, wasn’t it?
July 22, 2013 at 8:35 am #40501BonbonParticipantI can’t believe they even let hear go on wearing that. I can’t believe she would go out there wearing that. I can’t believe he would want to see her wearing that. If it was so bad that they had to blur it out, I can’t imagine what was showing. Well, yes, I guess I CAN imagine what was showing. Did you notice how she kept putting her hands in front of her whenever she could? How embarrassing. I’m surprised the judges didn’t say more about it. It thought it would have been cute if it was six sizes bigger.
July 22, 2013 at 2:15 pm #40507PattiParticipantbut I think he’s going to have talent — he just needs to make sure his clothes fit better. I think the judges were too embarrassed to say much more than they did, but you could tell by their enlarged eyes when she walked out exactly what they were thinking. OMG, LMAO!!!
July 22, 2013 at 3:32 pm #40509MKParticipantThe woman who was in the military should have gone home. As Heidi said, she did not follow the rules. She used very little of the parachute in her outfit. I can not believe that only Heidi called her out on it. Any of the other designers could have taken the easy way out and made a black pencil skirt. At least the woman who went home used the parachute so she should not be sent home for it. What a bad decision by the judges. So unfair.
July 22, 2013 at 4:11 pm #40511BonbonParticipantI agree with every thing you said, 100%.
July 22, 2013 at 4:46 pm #40512bluebonnetParticipantAgree, too.
July 22, 2013 at 9:46 pm #40514annieoParticipantThey passed her into the safe category and she I think she had a lot of white in her dress. Wasn’t it black white and material both that they were given to use for a small amount but then 85% had to be the parachute? I thought the judges seemed unclear on the rule – Heidi was the only one who jumped on it for too much black.
July 22, 2013 at 9:57 pm #40515annieoParticipantI guess "Sustainability dude" thought since he wasn’t allowing his model to wear shoes, he’d wear them for her. She looked about ready to cry when he was taking her through all those moves. I’m glad she pretty much defied him on the runway and only did one move. Frankly, she was one of the more attractive models. Sometimes I think the only reason they are models is because they are so skinny. Many are not that attractive until they get all made up. She had a nice face. I read on another site that they are probably keeping him on for the entertainment factor. I hope they get their laughs and move him on and out. I really thought the deaf designers dress was cute as well as the Australian designers pants. I also watched the "pre-game" show and the deaf designers clothes (can’t remember his name) were quite attractive. In fact, most of them looked pretty impressive in the pre-game.
I also read the reason Kate was given a second chance was because one of the designers chosen for this season punched a camera man and walked out.
As far as the Russian designer, the comment on another website said: I think Sandro was kept around because of the
extra large "spool of thread" he has in his pocket…hard to miss.
July 22, 2013 at 11:51 pm #40523BonbonParticipanther parachute so she was okay.
August 2, 2013 at 3:28 am #40658caseyParticipantOnce again I was so impressed by another unconventional materials challenge. The sombrero dress was clearly the best – what terrific construction. I am floored by the talent of these designers and it will be interesting to see which one Tim “saves.”
August 2, 2013 at 5:54 am #40659BonbonParticipantI really thought their dress was a little better than the other two guys’ dress, although both were pretty horrible.
And, boy, that Russian guy is sure turning out to be “The Terrible.” What an ass!
Who knows, Tim may never use his ‘save’ unless someone really worthy is booted.
August 2, 2013 at 12:55 pm #40660caseyParticipantwith Kelly Osborne. I caught a few episodes of her family show a few years back, and how far she has come from a rather spoiled, out of control little girl to a polished, well spoken woman on the fashion scene. No doubt her stint on Fashion Police has helped school her.
