Gee, just yesterday the families found out their loved ones got blown up. Then today a memorial. That was fast!
May 9, 2012 at 11:42 pm #32899PattiParticipantI loved the tribute everyone paid, even Sami’s. Seemed to me she was truly sorry for the way she treated Marlena and Carrie and bravely faced the music when she knew everyone would, as many do here, roll their eyes at her emotional comments. I have to admit, I was glad Will didn’t go into one of his tirades while, or after, she spoke. I thought Jennifer’s tribute to Hope was the ridiculous one, but I loved Victor’s tribute to Bo as well as Brady’s to John. Even Gabbi did a heartfelt emotional tribute to Rafe. I really enjoyed the show today, especially Will standing up to Stefano AND E.J.
May 10, 2012 at 12:08 am #32900NoraParticipantYeah Brady brought tears to my eyes. But I’m glad this won’t go on and on. I bet will did something to help stefano rig the election.
May 10, 2012 at 2:08 am #32901powerpaw2ParticipantVictor really got to me. He’s such a proud man, so it took a lot for him to say what he did.
Chandler just keeps getting better and better. As Patti stated, he did a great job being tough with Stefano and E.J., then gave a heartfelt speech about Marlena. This young man can do it all.
May 10, 2012 at 3:03 am #32903caseyParticipantwhat was that story with Jennifer and the ocean liner? It made no sense.
I’m sure Sami will embrace Marlena when she returns, but how long will it last? That’s the question.May 10, 2012 at 3:08 am #32904UhSirParticipantI agree. He was really beautifully humbled and paid Caroline such a sweet tribute.
May 10, 2012 at 3:10 am #32905UhSirParticipantI’m pretty sure we (the viewers) are still seeing the effects of preemptions. Kayla mentioned that it had been two days since they’d found out.
May 10, 2012 at 4:12 am #32906justwonderingParticipantI think it would have been a great twist if we the viewers did not know the 6 were alive. Even though the memorial was heartfelt, I found it hard to be invested when I knew the truth.
How great it would have been to think they were all dead, only to discover it was a ruse the same time the people from Salem did. Now that would have been good writing. Of course the "spoilers" would have had to been faked as well. Sometimes knowing what will happen takes the edge of the scenes.
May 10, 2012 at 4:15 am #32907justwonderingParticipantI thought jen was trying to say that she was the planner and Hope was the adventurer. Jen was trying to be prepared while Hope was all about going for it without thought of safety.
Sure hope that Sami doesn’t have a fit when she discovers that she does have a second chance with everyone.
May 10, 2012 at 4:40 am #32908jessad7ParticipantI couldn’t help but think they could have come up with a better story for Jen to tell. And did she say she’d bring the water?
I’m really hoping they’re setting Sami up for a transformation into an adult. She’s really been slapped in the face the past couple months with reality, it would be nice if it would stick a little. But like they tell addicts to stay away from relationships for a while to get their…stuff…together, it would be nice if she would take a break from men instead of jumping back to Lucas so quickly. I wish they had given that some time. I was a big Lucas/Sami fan, but grew to really like Sami/Rafe together. I have to admit, I’m enjoying Sami and Lucas together. I feel like they have unfinished business, they never really broke up because they wanted to, as I recall, they were always broken up by others, namely EJ.
May 10, 2012 at 10:23 am #32909BonbonParticipantthe front of my tee-shirt was getting all wet from tears dripping off my chin. I thought that episode was well written, well directed, and well acted. I started when Billie found Austin on the floor crying. That just tore my heart out (still chokes me up when I think about it). And then, each character added to it when they gave their individual eulogies.
As to the viewers not knowing they are all alive, they already did that before when they had killed so many characters off (where they were in the parallel Salem) and the viewers were so up in arms about it they hired most of them back again. But practically everybody was dead.
Although I thought the memorial was so very well done, I find this storyline totally absurd. I’m wondering if they decided to give those six actors their vacation time all at once. BUT…I want to know where they are and how they are surviving. I’ll bet we never find out.
May 10, 2012 at 12:29 pm #32914SWParticipantwas it something to make Abe appear to win and then Nicole did something to guarantee EJ was the real winner OR was it Abe really won, Stefano just goaded Nicole to fix something illegally?
May 10, 2012 at 12:49 pm #32917caseyParticipantso then it would make sense.
May 10, 2012 at 1:01 pm #32918BonbonParticipantStefano had it rigged so that EJ would lose but at the last minute, Nicole pulled something off to override what Stefano did and make EJ the winner. Who actually got the most votes, I don’t think we know.
May 11, 2012 at 12:55 am #32957lynnekarenParticipantSami the brat lasted about 3 minutes before ranting and raving at her mom and everyone in the house.
I CANNOT STAND HER. I could be happy to never see Ali on Days again.
