I loved the conversation between Rafe and Daniel. Rafe is genuine when he talks about loving the kids and Daniel’s reaction was very telling. Does this mean that he is realizing how much he loves Parker and that it is ok to feel that way? It is ironic how fast he decided to love Melanie when he found out she was his daughter, and how fast he turned his back on Parker–he never even fought for him–the boy he claimed to love so much. Seems he has a little EJ in him!!!
I don’t think he has any EJ in him. He was hurt and is afraid to love the little guy. You can tell when he sees him how much it hurts and I’m sure he’s thinking that Phillip needs to step up and know his son and he might be in the way preventing a relationship between them if he’s in his life.
I have a feeling he’s going to realize he can be there for Parker and be a "dad" without being with Chloe. But we all know if he shows any interest in Parker, Chloe’s going to run with it and keep pushing and pushing him to be a family again.
I’m not sure where they can go with it. The only way I can see any kind of a happy ending (or even reasonable ending) here is to find out that, yes, that doofus nurse did make a mistake when she entered the DNA results initially. (And I still think that’s what’s going to happen.)
And probably the only way that can come out is if Daniel gets the Salem Brain for a couple of seconds and asks for a second test. Heck, even Philip should do that. But, that wouldn’t allow us to continue to wade in the middle of all this turmoil, would it?
I hope Daniel never takes back Chloe. From what I’ve seen of her – the other day in the Pub when Parker was crying his little eyes out, Chloe wouldn’t even pick him up. I know you don’t pick a baby up when they cry all the time, but she didn’t check to see if he was wet, or comfort the poor baby in anyway except to say "please stop crying…" I knew Chloe would be a disasterous mother.
I still remember how uncomfortable she was around Aly when she was with Lucas. At that time she didn’t want any kids and didn’t know how to act around them. Suddenly we’re suppose to believe she’s all maternal and now she’s proving that she’s still uncomfortable around babies and doesn’t have a clue.
Daniel gave up Parker for the same reasons that EJ turned his back on Sydney. He wants Parker to have his mother and father, real father, take care of him because he knows how it felt now to be able to care for your child. I don’t see any EJ in him at all.
and I can’t remember, but does Daniel realize just how many other people we were led to believe screwed with that paternity switching madness other than Caroline? Let’s see, there was the nurse at St. Mary’s, Carly, Ian and Stephanie, Nathan, Caroline, …. who am I forgetting? If he had any idea just how many tampered with that test result, he certainly should demand, not request, that a new test be performed. So should Philip, and surely so should Chloe. Those results probably went back and forth so many times, it’s like trying to keep count of how many times the ball crosses the net at Wimbledon. I know we’ve had to face more than our share of WTD storylines, but this one is by far the most idiotic. Poor little Parker …. everyone thinking of their own humility and hurt, when this little guy should be first on everyone’s mind.
and leaves her infant with a sitter, and doesn’t tell the sitter or anyone else where she is? No, Chloe is definitely not mommy material, and her concerns for Parker, if truly they are there, are hidden by her selfish intent of using that baby whenever she can to get back with Daniel. I don’t know how all of this is going to pan out, but right now Chloe is not responsible enough to care for this baby. I am truly afraid for him to be around Chloe for any length of time, especially if and when she really snaps.
