1998 ball signed by the Cubs?!
Umm the Cubs were not in the 1997-1998 season OR the 1998-1999 season world series. So are they randomly signing baseballs for the hell of it?!? Why doesn’t DOOL do a tiny bit of fact checking?!? Google anyone?!?
December 21, 2013 at 10:53 am #42058BonbonParticipantI thought he said, “Oh, wow, everybody from the 1997 (or whatever it was) season.” Everybody knows the Cubs haven’t played in the series since Moses was a baby.
December 21, 2013 at 1:46 pm #42059PattiParticipanthe said the whole 1998 team, but I must admit I have never seen a glass or plastic encased ball signed by any team that wasn’t a world series team be offered for sale, so you’re both right. Still, I thought it was the perfect gift for Rafe from Kate, even though I’m sure she thought her reward might have been an invitation to stay. Oh well, it’s time this fiasco couple ended anyway. Loved when she walked out the door though: “HAPPY NEW YEAR, BITCH!!!” LMAO!
December 21, 2013 at 5:22 pm #42062BonbonParticipantThere is a ball with Sammy Sosa and a couple of other Cubs selling on sportsmemorabilia.com for $1,711.71. One with the whole team will be a lot more than that. You can find autographed balls (encased in plastic) with practically any ballplayer’s signature on it.
December 21, 2013 at 5:43 pm #42065PattiParticipanthey, I’m a “Raven-Maniac” as you well know, but I would not pay my hard-earned money for an autograph or any other type of memorabilia of any team member unless I thought it could get me more than I paid for it some day. LOL!
December 22, 2013 at 1:27 am #42066TFlo1018ParticipantRIDIC you would parade into a room with a ball from a "regular old season." I’m a die hard Knicks fan but I don’t know that I’d be that impressed with a ball signed by a team with no title to show for it. JMO
December 22, 2013 at 10:17 am #42071BonbonParticipantWhy do people line up at plain ol’ regular games to get balls, hats, gloves, programs, the shirt they’re wearing, autographed by players? Why are some baseball cards so valuable? It’s the signature. Of course a World Series team would be more valuable. I mean $1711 for a ball must be worth SOMETHING, Patti.
Knowing Cub fans, you probably could turn around tomorrow and sell it for more. I lived in the Chicago area for 18 years so I’ve know many of them. They are probably way more FANatical that you are about their beloved team.
December 22, 2013 at 4:45 pm #42081TFlo1018ParticipantBut a gift coming from KATE (of all people) who need to be HUGE and DRAMATIC. There is no flair, no pizzaz, no nothing about a ball from a regular season. I don’t care where you’re from or what team you love. Now if Kate would’ve handed him over a ball from a world series team that would have made more sense. In all truth – considering the absurd things we endure with this show they could’ve trumped that gift up a bit or at least made the "ball" fit the "occassion (i.e. a world series ball.)"
