I’ve heard the rumors that Mickey’s death will be the beginning of the healing between Bo and Hope but started thinking of what other storylines could be affected. Melanie, Phillip & Nathan.
Per what I read, even though it doesn’t come out and say it the hints point to Mickey dieing this week. Phillip and Melanie haven’t yet left for Vegas to tie the knot. I see Melanie hearing about Mickey and telling Phillip she needs to stay for Maggie. Another scenerio, Melanie and Phillip get to vegas but before they get married she hears about Mickey and runs out to go back to Salem. I can also see Phillip getting the news first and trying to keep it from Melanie until after they get married but I have a feeling this will stall things for a while. Then I could see Melanie consoling Nathan and this bringing them closer together.
Anybody else see other storylines that could be affected by this?
all I can see is a 30 something man with a teenager; a teenager who tries to act much older than she is and, rough upbringing or not, she’s not convincing me even a little bit. I did read that while she’s with Phillip, she’ll be thinking of Nathan, and while Nathan is with Stephanie (evidently she decides to forgive him and decides to date him again), he will be dreaming of Melanie. Barf!!! What is it about this girl that has these two very handsome, highly successful men so ga-ga. She is a little girl in a woman’s body who is so screwed up in her head that she doesn’t know who or what she wants. She thinks she does, but I think you are right DeeLan with regard to when she hears about Mickey, that she will put hold on everything. I’ll be surprised if her and Phillip do get married. As a matter of fact, I’d go so far as to say that they won’t. She’s a little like a younger version of Kate; she wants the money, the power, the name, and all that goes with it, but inside she’s looking for the one thing she’s never really known from childhood up….someone who truly loves her. She blew that one when she put the screws to Nick Fallon.
…if Philip really loves Melanie or not. For all outward appearances, he does. But it certainly doesn’t make sense to me. He was so head-over-heels in love with Stephanie, how could he possibly turn his feelings around toward Mel so fast. But…I would think they’d give us some kind of indication if he’s just doing this on the rebound, maybe like daydreaming about Stephanie like Mel is doing with Nathan.
I’m very confused.
What I forgot to put in my initial post is, even though Melanie will want to be there for Maggie since she’s the closest thing to a mother she’s had I see her using this as a way to postpone the wedding. You can tell she doesn’t really want to go through with it and I’m sure she’d like a lengthy engagement but Phillip is rushing things which I don’t understand except he feels threatened by Nathan.
That’s the only thing that makes any sense…..Why is Phillip doing this about face? Stephanie & Phillip’s relationship is so much deeper. He was frantic when she was kidnapped, he almost died for her. And they went through the Hollingsworth ordeal, him getting mugged, shot and disowned. They suffered thru Melanie’s drama with the fuel project, loosing the whole deal to the Demera’s,Tony’s death, Stefano’s kidnapping…and alot of this was because of Melanie, he has a quickie with her in a sleezy motel room, it’s broadcasted on the internet, and THIS is the girl he wants to marry????? And what makes it more confusing is…Nathan starts to get more interested in Melanie after the internet broadcast!!! Are they all perverted? What’s with Nathan?He was all about Stephanie before she broke up with Phillip!!!!
I don’t get the connection between Phillip and Melanie either. It seems very forced to me, just like Lucas and Chloe were. I haven’t liked Phillip with anyone but Belle to be honest. And, there’s no one on the show currently that I could see him with. But, Mel? No. Doesn’t work.
Wen Philip decides he loves a girl, he always goes full steam forward! He was that way with Chloe, Belle, What’s her face from the sorority, Stefanie and now Melanie. That’s his MO.
The actor will be 33 next month (according to IMDB). I don’t know how old the character is supposed to be but 26 seems like a stretch. Esp considering everything this character is supposed to have been through – war, learning to use a prostetic leg, marriage, embryo switch, going back to war, face transplant… Those things take time.
but he sure isn’t 12! Neither are they having him will’s age or Philip’s age for that matter. Since Sami was 16 when Will was born and he’s 17 now, she should be about 33. She should be older than Philip but… this is Days! Phil is also supposed to be the same age as Will and EJ should be younger than her son- how funny would that one be!
I am basing his age on when they went to high school. they graduated in 2002 ( the same year as my twin sons) so that makes him 26. I do not know if he was SORA since then, but since that was 7 years ago he had time to be in the Marines and now out.
Oh sure, he could have been in the Marines and back. But when we consider that he did the one tour, lost his leg, came back, learned how to walk again, had all those issues with Belle and Shawn and finding out Claire wasn’t his and the thing with the surrogate and so on. THEN he somehow managed to go back to active duty and lost his face, had a transplant (miraculously with no scars LOL), found out Pocket was his son, worked at Titan, set-up John for drug smuggling, had relationships with Chloe, Melanie, Stephanie and now Melanie again… I just have a hard time believing he’s done ALL of that and is still only 26. I do think he’s supposed to have been aged some since high school but I don’t think it’s ever been said. Once the characters reach adulthood they seem to go into some time warp where age does not exist. Like how Marlena turned up pregnant at what had to have been at least 60.
he is…not to mention head of Titan and other things. Then also so has Hope (all though older) – look at all her "adventures" – Princess Gina, Larry, the cruise, Hope’s baby switch, police force off and on, Zack’s death, the affair with Patrick, etc, in her life (and that’s just the short version!)
Then what about all the things that Sami’s had happen to her (or she caused to happen to her) over her life time? Too long to list.
Stephanie has been a college student, a race car driver, working in Titan, etc., And even little ol’ Melanie…with werido father, her European trash days, nursing school, in love – out of love with these two guys – I would just plain be tired at 1/10th of this stuff in my life.
