WOW …. never thought I’d see it, but my Ravens swept the Steelers. Have to take note of this season, and we still might have to face off with them one more time in play-off mode, but honestly, I could not be happier for our team. We have never been able to do this …. ever ….. and I feel like shouting it from the rooftops. Sorry, I know there are not too many football fans on board, but for the Ravens, playing the Steelers in Pittsburgh is like throwing yourself in front of a train and just letting it run over you. LOL. ….. NOT THIS TIME, BOYS!!! But it was a nail-biter right up until the end of the game, and I have to say, these two teams played their usual form of smash-mouth football, and I don’t think the fans would have had it any other way. Greatest game this year, hands down, …. annnnddddd …. WE DID IT!!!
GO RAVENS…..GO RAVENS…..GO RAVENS
November 7, 2011 at 8:47 pm #28399goodolddaysParticipantI was waiting for you post Patti! You know I feel the opposite, being a lifelong Steelers fan. I do think there were some bad calls that were in the Ravens favor, however we did blow it at the end with poor defense. Til we meet again……….

November 7, 2011 at 11:43 pm #28406PattiParticipantif you’re as big a fan as I am (and it sounds like you are), you know that there are bad calls in every game on any given Sunday, that’s for sure, and we’ve had our fair share of them, too; but, I keep thinking how much higher the score might have been for the Ravens if our receivers hadn’t dropped so many passes that were right on the money. LOL. I was just so happy to see Joe (Flacco) back to form. Great, great game …… well, for Rafens fans, anyway.
November 7, 2011 at 11:48 pm #28407PattiParticipantand I was rooting for Buffalo, mainly because the Jets head coach used to be our defensive coordinator, and those Ryan brothers sure do like to run their mouths a lot, and, when they do, it ‘ain’t’ pretty. LOL.
November 8, 2011 at 12:59 am #28408luckeyParticipantboth teams did well in some respects and not so well in others. Good game all around. GO STEELERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
November 8, 2011 at 1:02 pm #28414PattiParticipantabsolutely great game; fortunately, it was in our favor. I would be a Ravens fan if they went 0-18. Well, I’d probably bitch on them a lot, but never ever not be a fan.
November 8, 2011 at 5:08 pm #28427luckeyParticipantfollowing them in 1971, they had not won anything and were just starting to build the team that was so successful in the 70’s. However, what drew me to them was a story I had read about Art Rooney Sr. If ever there was a kind and generous man who had a talent for business and knew how to treat his employees fairly…it was him. I’ve seen the next couple of Rooney generations continue his legacy and that’s so much a part of what that team is. When Ben screwed up last year, regardless of his football ability, I would have supported the Rooney family 100% if they had let him go. Whether the accusations were true or not, Ben had put himself in a situation that did not reflect well on him and his team. So, my heart is very much in the Steeler Nation!
November 8, 2011 at 6:27 pm #28431BonbonParticipantI’m just wondering if you all watched the game from your "man cave." You sound just like a bunch of sports-fanatic men. This is NOT by any means an insult, just an observation.
Two of my good friends are the same way with the Dolphins. They won’t even answer the phone when they are playing on TV. And they both have season tickets, of course! It’s not uncommon for them to even fly out for an away game.
I just have never been able to get into sports myself. I always enjoyed playing, softball especially…love, love, love it, tennis, golf, and pretty much everything else, but watching…not that much.
November 8, 2011 at 7:34 pm #28434goodolddaysParticipantI agree about the Rooneys, I have a lot of respect for the family and I hope they carry on with the same values. I was born and raised in Pittsburgh and my whole family are big fans. My parents have been season ticket holders for years. It’s funny how caught up in the game I can get. Sometimes I have to leave the room when we are doing bad, or scream, or whatever. I am always talking to the tv like they can hear me, lol . What can I say – I bleed black and gold!
November 9, 2011 at 1:46 am #28447luckeyParticipantthat’s me to a "T"! I can barely sit in my chair sometimes. I’m pacing in front of the TV and holding my breath and yelling at whoever I think is doing something wrong…no matter who it is. Hubby won’t watch the game with me because of my actions! When we win, I’m euphoric; but, when we lose, I really have to take time to process it. I love football!
