Re the gay character

I think that it will be better to have Chad as the gay character as we have more invested in Will at this point.  I think it will challenge Stephano in different ways to find out his new son is "different".  Plus, doesn’t Sami have enough on her plate at this time?

 but Dayscafe says it’s Will.  Guess we’ll have to wait and see, but it would be easier to believe if it were Chad, since Will and Gabi are pretty exclusive, and Chad seems to be lost in a world of doubt about his identity crisis.  Also, he doesn’t seem too interested in any of the young girls on the show right now.  Of course, he could just be going through his own problems right now realizing that Abby is hell-bent on convincing him not to move into his father’s mansion.  He seems to be very much alone, and not able to open up to anyone, which could be a great lead-in to his discovering what he truly wants, and so far it doesn’t seem to be Abby.  In any case, I would rather it be Chad, but we’ll see where they go with this.  Whatever they decide, I’m sure these writers will be as unconvincing as they always are with any other true-to-life story line.  They’re already screen-testing for this Ryan super-stud, who starts in May, so I’m guessing this will be the beginning of this storyline, and I hate to say it, but unless they do it right, It’s one I’m not looking forward to.

We haven’t seen any evidence of Stefano being homophobic so if it turns out to be Chad, he could very likely be completely accepting of it.  However, that doesn’t make for very good soap opera storylines…not enough drama!

I just learned that according to best estimates, the US gay population composes 1.7% of the population. Yet gay in the media/Hollywood represents a far higher incidence.
Of course it’s because of the much higher gay population in the arts. Which doesn’t make sense since the general viewership doesn’t reflect what tv/movies are dishing out.
Not to say a gay character won’t be/can’t be interesting. But I’d like to show an attempt to tackle everyday issues, not merely to include a token gay guy. Can Days do this?

If someone has to be gay, I would rather it be a woman, and I don’t see why it wouldn’t be Abby. I don’t think she has shown any interest in any guys, and she’s got this thing with hating her dad cause of him being gone so long without contacting any of them. I could see it being her.

I can’t see it being Will at all because he’s hot with Gabi, and Chad got Mia pregnant, but that was a long time ago and I suppose he could have turned gay because of that whole experience with his and Mia’s baby Grace dying. It’s possible, but IDK, whetever, I just really hope they don’t start showing gay kissing or sex. IMO it’s just wrong and I don’t wanna see it.
