Just read this – hope it’s nothing but a bunch of smoke…I know NBC has had the writers stop writing…but one theory is that they don’t like having stories 6 months ahead of time. Hope this works out in the fans’ favor!
February 10, 2016 at 11:02 pm #50784PattiParticipantwell not exactly nothing; but, they told writers to stop writing because NBC and SONY want to stop the 5-6 month to air after filming and go back to a normal tape to air date so that stories will gain more continuity. I personally like it, but I would still like to hear a firm renewal, which should be coming this month. I think we’ll be renewed, because the audience is still holding in the high 2.5 million viewers, and I don’t think NBC will want to lose that; but, we’ll see but as of right now I’m not worried about cancellation. Hope I don’t have to eat these words either, so fingers crossed we get good news by a firm confirmation that the DOOL contract has been renewed.

This is not my show and aside from Chad there is not one character or sl I am interested in. I’ve never ever said that. I’ll admit that Sami drew me in as full time viewer but there was always SO many good SL’s and characters going on….. not anymore.
If the consolation prize is NOT writing so far ahead (as to adjust SL to fan reaction) so be it. I never thought that far ahead was smart – took too long to react to poor SL’s that we hated. But I feel like watching is such a chore now that I’m okay with saying goodbye (b/c i’ll never stop watching voluntarily.)
February 11, 2016 at 1:58 pm #50791caseyParticipantan ingrained habit since my teens. And it’s my hour in the day I take time to relax, have a snack and just vegetate. Definitely the content is not exactly must see tv for some time now except for the writer changeover early on. But there is still enough to keep me at least mildly interested.
If NBC renews I do not see anything longterm with the tv landscape changing and the soap on the verge of extinction. But for now I hope Days continues.February 11, 2016 at 2:12 pm #50792bluebonnetParticipantThere will probably always be things we feel they could improve, but Days is definitely "my" time, and I would surely miss watching it every day.

Glad for all of the cast, crew and most of all, the fans. Hollywood Deadline is also reporting there is an option for an additional one-year pick-up, depending on I would imagine how the ratings continue.
February 11, 2016 at 11:22 pm #50802caseyParticipantboth on renewal and the ridiculous filming schedule.
