that those type scenes are rarely submitted for awards because they are meaty and any half-assed actor can really get into them so much more than the quieter dramatic scenes. That’s why I don’t think we’ll be seeing Hope’s grief-stricken scenes up for an Emmy. IIRC, we didn’t see any of her post Zack scenes either, even though she did a fantastic job with them.
It’s not just the fight/threat/violent scenes he is doing so well but just his quiet menacing looks have been exceptional. You can really see his brain spinning out of control trying to decide what to do and the conflict he’s being faced with. I take back what I said and agree, he should definitely get a nomination nod for this work.
