Caught most of it. Kate’s dress reminded me of Princess Grace. Everyone raved about Diana’s famous gown but I thought it was very “frumpy” and dated.
The Brits do these affairs so well. I hope this marriage lasts.

and veil, too. They seem like a great couple. William is so special to all of us–we watched him grow up, plus he is Diana’s son.

… but FNC was on when I turned on the TV early this morning.  So I checked out some of it.  I think the appeal in William and Kate is they seem so much more able to relate to the "commoners" which seems to come from Diana’s influence.  I hope they have many happy years together and that the press leaves them alone and let’s them enjoy life.

I did DVR it too.  The pageantry is mind boggling!  Loved the dress that Pippa wore and the ones the little girls wore too.  Kate is absolutely a gorgeous woman and her dress was just what I hoped it would be!  Diana’s was just so the opposite of the elegance that she displayed after she was married awhile.  I wonder if she ever thought about what she would do if she had a "do-over".  She went from a shy duckling to a beautiful swan as she matured.  All in all, I’m glad the whole royal build-up about the wedding is finally over!  Although, it could be called a guilty pleasure.  :-)

I missed the wedding this morning, didnt take in the time difference into consideration, but i’m sure they will re run it many times.  i saw it the next hour.  beautiful.  I loved her dress and the veil, William was handsome of course.  i did see them at 8:30 when they first stepped onto the balcony.  They said that when they were in the carriage that she said "I’m so Happy" you could see thats what she said. I didnt see it btu the reporters said she said it.   loved seeing the kisses on the balcony.  They really seem to be in love unlike Diana and Charles.  Total difference there.

Well, I did FF through a bunch of it when they started repeats but all-in-all, I’d say it was an enjoyable experience.  I loved seeing all the hats (I wish we wore hats here in the US more because I LOVE them).  Her dress was a little plainer than I expected but beautiful nonetheless.  As was Pipa’s and the little girls.  I agree that Diana’s dress was very frumpy and not at all what I had expected.

I just hope that these two can stay together forever.  Three of the Queen’s children have divorced so I hope it doesn’t carry down to the next generation.  If I’m not mistaken, William is the first grandchild to marry, yes?

I was surprised to see that the Prime Minister’s wife (can’t think of her name now) decided she could go against protocol and not wear a hat nor wear long sleeves.  Does she think she’s above all that?  And boy, are the Earl of Spencer’s daughters ever beautiful.  Two looked like twins.

Also loved the carriages and all the horses.  How beautiful the whole thing was.  I must say, I had a very scary minute when my heart absolutely stopped.  Just as the jets were flying over Buckingham Palace, my TV picture broke up and it looked like the planes had been blown to bits.  OMG, what a time for that to happen.

But I’m glad it’s now all over and we can go back to our regularly scheduled lives.
