I wish I could like this character, but I can’t. Don’t get me wrong, I like Allie Sweeney, but the character of Sami is still written and portrayed as the immature teen that she was when she first appeared on Days. She will go to any lengths now, to get that baby. The same baby her daughter wanted her to have no part of. She has no problem destroying her brother in the mean time. I hope she ends up with nothing. I also cannot give her a pass on the way she spoke to John. He has done nothing wrong to her and as a matter of fact, he’s been a solid father figure to her. Unless Sami is going to start acting like an adult, I’d rather her not be in Salem. It’s going to be a long year for me having to watch her like this.
I so agree, mommytutu! I can barely stand watching her. She ruined her brother’s wedding with her immature and volatile antics and now this. I almost felt kind of sorry for her when she thought Rafe was going to get the baby. I understood her wanting Will and Sonny to have it. But now, as usual, she took things too far: first with John and now with this farce of a court proceeding and trying to destroy her brother’s life.
Her family always excuses her behavior as "it’s Sami being Sami". Does Sami have amnesia? Does she not remember all the horrible things she has done? The judge must clearly see how unstable she is with her outbursts and trying to run the whole courtroom. Can’t this character keep her edge while being somewhat mature at the same time? it is tiring and unnerving to watch.
but this time around, NO! She is totally out of control and that is due to one person, and that would be our inept headwriter. If you know me, you know that I cannot wait until I open this board and read that Ron Carlivati is over, done with, GONE!!!
Sami is out of control. She is mean and vindictive and extremely angry. She has totally lost it. As far as I’m concerned, if this behavior is how the writers are going to portray her for her entire return into 2021, I’m not interested in watching. This is not entertainment.
She kidnapped Belle, she hid Will’s paternity from Lucas, she lied to Austin and said he was Will’s dad, she disguised herself as Stan, and got John addicted to drugs. There is much more, but those things right there prove to me Sami is unfit. Talk about a pot calling a kettle black.
Good memory. I was also trying to think of the bad things she’s done. She raped Austin by giving him a date rape drug so that he would think she was Carrie. And a ton of other things.
She has done a whole range of evil things and has done nothing to take responsiblity for anything she has done. Nicole on the other hand has tried so hard to do better, she did not ask to raise this baby, but she and Eric are stepping up because Ally wants them to and they have seen Mama Sami.
Yeah I was waiting for Justin to list all her past dirty deeds, but of course we don’t go down that road. This is why I have no desire to have Sami on the show. The only time I liked her character was when they finally decided to pair her with Lucas. I actually liked and believed in that short lived romance. That all was ruined because fans for whatever reason (I still don’t get it) wanted Sami and E.J. together. She can’t leave soon enough
But she’s not really leaving. They’ve given her a contract that keeps her on through the end of 2021. I totally agree with you, though. I hated her pairing with EJ. He raped her, and I don’t have any forgiveness for that. She was better with Lucas.
Rape her… but didn’t Luke rape Laura? And that was a "great love story" on GH too no?! Sami and Lucas were so… friendly. It never felt like a couple. Her pairing with Rafe was annoying w/his holier than thou attitude. She was red hott w/Brandon but that was all physical. I dunno – I just loved her w/EJ.
I for one will soak up every minute of Sami I can get. I don’t want growth in her character… I want Sami to just be Sami. Would i like a little more adulting scheming? Sure. Perhaps have her wrangle DiMera away from Chad. Be a scheming business bitch like Alexis Colby? That I would love.
But Ali is electric in every scene she is. I’ll enjoy her/Sami for every minute they are on.
Actually, it wasn’t just a rape. EJ was going to have Lucas killed if Sami didn’t have sex with him.
Yup I’m with you. Love Ali Sweeney but Sami Brady is a straight up abusive bitch. Perhaps her messed up childhood could be explored more and she could heal but the constant hysterical theatrics are boring to me and with her mother being a shrink you would think her obvious personality disorders would have been addressed by now or boundaries set around her toxic ass.
Love your post, majenco! abusive bitch, toxic ass, and hysterical theatrics pretty much sums her up. Like I said before, everybody, including her mother, always excuse her actions. They sometimes say "what has Sami done now?" like it’s a big joke that she behaves like a crazy person. They might get mad at her and tell her off, but five seconds later, all is forgotten until the next tantrum. Let’s hope she is not easily let off the hook this time around for her latest escapades.
There’s a lot of psychological trauma to be mined with Sami if the writers weren’t so lazy. She had an eating disorder and major daddy issues. Her in some sort of family therapy would be interesting to me. enough with the grief sex and baby switch storylines.
