I know I’m probably the only one here that likes Carrie and I’m not afraid to say so! I absolutely loved yesterday’s scene between Sami and Carrie (and Marlena) and the way Carrie gave it right back to Sami. When Sami said to Carrie "you’re always after my men" I almost choked. What a short-term memory Sami has. And not to repeat all of Sami’s past evil deeds, but I simply can not stand her right now and her adolescent blame-everybody-else attitude. SHE broke up her marriage by sleeping with EJ. As Carrie pointed out, after all EJ had done to her and Rafe, she STILL slept with him. I still can’t get past that, especially after he switched Rafe with faux Rafe and endangered Sami and his kids, she still had to have sex with him. All her fault.
Then Sami has the nerve to push Carrie! And while she’s pregnant! Always the brat that refuses to grow up! I guess I just don’t get all the hate for Carrie. I know people will say she’s supposed to be the good one and what a hypocrite she is. And yes, she should take some responsibility for acting on her feelings for Rafe. But, I don’t see her intentionally trying to manipulate and hurt people. I’ve always liked Carrie.
Just the way I see it folks! Now I can just see the flying fingers on your keyboards for some heavy-duty Carrie bashing! LOL

Seriously, I’ve said before that I don’t feel strongly one way or the other about Carrie but I think all your points are valid. Both of the girls have done their share of stupid things but, to me anyway, Carrie seems to be the more civil and mature of the two. And, yes, she used to be a goody-two-shoes until she ran off with Mike. I think that was the beginning of her moral decline.
Sami is always going off half-cocked and never thinking how she may hurt someone else where Carrie knows what she is doing but seems to have no control over her actions (in the love department). You’ve got to admit, Carrie certainly hasn’t done any of the heinous things Sami has pulled off…drugging John, pretending to be Stan, etc. Carrie’s only misdeeds have been infidelity. Offhand, I can’t think of anything she’s done you’d consider "sinful." (Of course if there was something, SOMEONE will remind me!)
All things considered, Carrie is just another character that the writers have ruined. They just can’t seem to let anybody be a nice, up-standing, moral person anymore. They did the same thing to Rafe.
So, don’t worry, MK, I’ve got your back. :o)
July 3, 2012 at 3:42 pm #34084PattiParticipantabout what they think about ANY character on this show. It’s a message board ….. that’s all. Everyone is entitled to their opinion regarding who they like or don’t like, so, that being said, I am NOT a Carrie fan, BUT I absolutely loved the scenes between Carrie, Sami and Marlena yesterday, because soap operas tend to think it’s a wonderful thing to now and then change a person in complete reversal of that character’s history. They don’t do that with these three. The characters have been this way for practically their entire existence. What I did like yesterday is that we saw the good and the bad in each of them, including Marlena. The writers brought out quite a bit that was not only truthful about these three, but they seemed to absorb it without the usual smack-down, and I would have been all for it if Carrie wasn’t pregnant. Marlena was perfect in admonishing both girls, and yet realizing that both of them had some very valid points. Good job, writers, on keeping it real.
Some great one liners, too, by all 3 of them. Loved it!
Carrie: "At least I don’t need a calendar to determine who my baby’s father is."
Sami: "Yes, I made a mistake — one which my MOTHER and my SISTER made before me.
Now, now, girls …. play nice. LOL.
July 3, 2012 at 4:04 pm #34085rngatorParticipantsaid that carrie had ruined her marriage, came between her and rafe, i ask why sami didn’t fignt for her marriage/family as carrie has tried to do. sami never let anyone come between her and the man she wanted. i was always curious that she never really tried to reconcile with rafe; lucas came and that was it.

July 3, 2012 at 5:25 pm #34090NoraParticipantGee, I missed Days yesterday but I recorded it, it sounds like I better watch it. sounds like some good scenes.
July 7, 2012 at 3:47 pm #34152BrandyRoseParticipantI agree with all of the points made. I’m so disgusted with Sami these days. She is always in everyone’s face. Of course, she thinks she can do anything she wants, and, when she’s busted, she still gets up in their face.
I "sort of" like Carrie, but there wasn’t much to her storyline with Rafe to display a little more personality. Anyway, I was rooting for Carrie to beat Sami in that confrontational scene with Sami, Carrie and Marlena. Carrie was being much more mature than Sami. As for Marlena, that was the first time I ever saw Marlena show an emotion! (I’ve been wanting to say that, lol) (Dodging, lol)

July 7, 2012 at 10:12 pm #34173MKParticipantGreat to have you here, BrandyRose!
I was laughing at what you wrote about Marlena showing an emotion. I know what you mean. I do think she is very good in showing certain emotions but I think she is very stiff and too formal at times. Maybe a little too proper, like you just want to shake her sometimes and say "loosen up!"
And when she is with John, her gushy, mushy side is over done! Lol
July 11, 2012 at 9:16 pm #34209BrandyRoseParticipantsweet and nice. Thank you very much for the welcome! I’m glad someone else noticed that about Marlena. Good point about her turning around and overdoing the mushiness with John, lol. I agree.
