OK – it looked from the last show where Sami and Madison first met that Sami had maybe a two to three hour meeting with her new boss, came home fussed around with the products, (didn’t look like she finished her project either) and fell asleep after making kids PB&J for dinner…exhausted…  She didn’t hear anything of the commotion of a normal household with four kids getting ready for school in the morning…

OooooooKkkkkkkkkk…so she’s that much of a very heavy sleeper?  My point being, what is she going to do when she has to help get a fledgling company off the ground and work 15 hours a day plus the household?  Rafe is right when he said ‘can you (Sami) do it?’

Good thing Rafe is such a saint and takes total care of her and her family.  Sami (listening to yesterdays show right now), thinks she can do it, it would be great if she does and can…but the first indication is no based on Monday’s show…or else a second option in this speculation is that you will never see her kids again on the show…they’ll be stuck with Cierra, Theo and all the rest up in Caroline’s rooms at the Brady pub.  Trotted out at the rare occasional holidays…I hope not, but based on the past…but then this is the new and improved DAYs and my first fly in the ointment of it.

Just getting caught up…but I thought the same thing. Falling asleep with all those kids around? After Day 1? and it seems as if she just worked an eight hour day (at BEST)! They need to write this storyline a LOT more realistically!  It has tons of potential if they won’t destroy it with silliness. I’m embarassed for Ali having to portray some of this nonsense!

she is certainly dressing a lot nicer, and I thought her and Carrie looked beautiful on yesterday’s show.

Sami looked amazing in that blue dress yesterday.  It really brought out her eyes.  Carrie’s houndstooth skirt and black top were very cute as well.  Much better than that frumpy outfit they had her in the day before with the skirt that was too tight.

work in the a.m.  She sure did alot  of stuff before she took off for work.

And Sami, don’t cry to me about having a full time job and raising kids.  When we were young and my husband was in the AF, I held down a full-time job and TWO part-times (eves in a RE office and weekends in a florist) and completely took care of the house and the kids because DH was at the base all day and worked in a gas station at night.  It was a tough time but we made it.  I’ll have to admit, I didn’t get a whole lot of sleep during that time.

Have you ever been out of work for years and then gone back into the workforce?  Do you remember how you felt that first day?  I know several people who have been out of work for long periods of time (sometimes only months) and the first day back is extremly exhausting because you are not used to it.  Aftr several weeks you can handle more workload than you were able to handle the first day and not be as tired, but it takes time to get back into the mode of working.  Both mentally and physically.

I personally thought this SL was very realistic and shows someone going from the home into the workplace and the struggles that entails.  Along with how more families have two parents helping raising the kids and helping around the house.  I like this SL a lot and thought Ali’s portrayal was very good.  Also, you don’t think Rafe told the kids, "Mommy is sleeping, be quiet around her"  Even at that age they can grasp simple concepts like that.

I know …. it happened to me.  It’s hard to be away from the work force for several years, only to return after having children.  I can remember back to when my kids were young and I had to get them up early for school, rushing them to get dressed while I fixed their breakfast, then saw to it that they brushed, combed or whatever, checked they had lunch or lunch money, and saw them off to school, which was close to our house, and then getting myself ready for work.  I was worn out before I even got there, and by the time I got home, I was completely exhausted.  I learned very quickly how to use a crock-pot so meals could be ready without too much helter-skelter.  Fortunately, my boys and my husband learned quickly as well how to get dinner on the table, while I took a "time-out" to unwind.  Those were the days!

that just about every job I’ve had, the first day was the longest in my life.  In fact, one job I had was so long and tiring, I looked at my watch at 4:00 and thought it was five and went so far as to get into my car to leave before I realized it was only four.  Thank God I didn’t leave and, hopefully, everyone thought I had gone to the restroom.  Can you imagine if I had?

I must admit though that days at that job (stockbroker with Kidder Peabody) were horribly long.  I had to be there by 6:30 am in California because the stockmarket in NY opened at that time and we had to be available to take trades.  Then, no lunch until after 1:00 EST when it closed.  Then you had to do all your paper work after that.  I never got out of there until at least 6:00 p.m.  Thank goodness I was single then and didn’t have a family to have to feed when I got home.  Couldn’t complain about the money though.  :o)

After I married Don there were no kids in the house but it was still hectic coming home and trying to fix a decent dinner.  Thankfully he was home long before I was so he started doing the cooking.  Some nights I’d put something together the night before (meatloaf, casserole, etc) with instructions on how long and how high to bake and he’d put it in the oven.  It was so nice when I’d get home I’d have a hot homecooked meal waiting for me.  Of course the crockpot came in mighty handy also.

I still use the crockpot even when I’m home all day because I can set it up after breakfast and not worry about it until it’s time to eat.

I guess it would be scary for someone like her, but then the character of Sami is over the top on most things.  I think that a mother can hear her children in even in her sleep (most mom’s don’t ever any sleep until the kids are grown and out of the house) as they sleep with one eye open.  Every mother I’ve ever known does that, especially with smaller children like Sami has.  Like I said, good thing Sami has Rafe to raise her kids.  He’s a good step-father to her children, she lucked out finally landing a guy like him, helps her stay balanced and will help her children learn right from wrong – the character of Sami isn’t the greatest role model for a mother.

Some things just taste so much better when they’re slow-cooked all day.  I have several crock-pot recipe books, and I haven’t tried one yet that didn’t taste absolutely delicious.

Because I do get sleep and I have not waken up all the time when my baby cries.  If it is not my turn, I don’t always wake up.  Same with my DH, if it is not his turn, he doesn’t realize that our daughter is crying and she is IN our room.  It is why we would never in a million years sleep with our kids in our bed.  My husband has rolled over on our dog and I am sure she would roll over on our child.  Our son is sick and has night nursing and our daughter sleeps thru the night since she was 3 1/2 months old.  When we don’t have night nurses one of us has to be up at all times.  So if we go through a couple nights of that, then we do sleep when we have nurses.  Even one night of that and the next night we sleep good because we are so exhausted.  One of us will wake up the next morning and have no clue our daughter screamed in the middle of the night.  She does that sometimes and then goes right back to sleep.  She has gas issues, so sometimes it flairs up and then it is gone 5 minutes later.  So I guess that is why the SL is believable to me, since I have slept through my daughter crying in the same room as me.  Not sure why, but I guess I know when it is my turn or not my turn to get up with her.
