Sami talks a good game, but is easily, even pathetically manipulated. How lame was that whole set of events from falling for EJ’s “Stef is sick” line to allowing the kids to stay the night. I was waiting for her to at least say “if the kids stay I’m staying.”
So much for this wonderful mom she’s been held up to be over all these years. She’s all sound and fury without the backbone.April 14, 2010 at 9:13 pm #12063midwifemamaParticipantEven she knew she shouldn’t do it. She said to Sydney that she had promised she would never spend another night away from her, but there she goes. And Kate slammed the door on her as she left. This is stupid beyond manipulation, She knows she should not do this, and watch Stefano and EJ end up with both babies and leaving Sami alone!
April 14, 2010 at 9:24 pm #12064PattiParticipantthat’s for sure. She should have responded to E.J.’s ludicrous request with her favorite words to start with: "over my dead body" or, "Stefano can drop dead for all I care", or at the very least she should have informed E.J. "fine, but if you do this, take your shit with you because you are no longer welcome to stay in my home." Instead, she’s standing there holding a conversation with an infant like the baby understood everything she was saying to her. She should have gone ballistic on Kate and taken her apart just like she did on Nicole; she should have spit in Stefano’s face, then kicked E.J. in the balls on her way out.
April 14, 2010 at 9:45 pm #12068BonbonParticipanthe IS their father and does have some say in the matter. We don’t know what their custody arrangement is but if he wants to take the kids to see their g.father, he should be entitled to do so. Sami doesn’t have total control…I don’t think, does she?
That’s why I couldn’t understand what all this hullabaloo was about. I wondered why EJ didn’t just say, I’m taking the kids out for awhile. Be back later…see ya.
April 14, 2010 at 11:12 pm #12072trykeryderParticipantThe other day, Stefano even asked why Sami would matter. It’s as though the writers feel the father is the only one that matters. The mother is nothing more than an incubator. In fact, we KNOW who the mother is (in most cases), but the father is only conjecture unless they take a DNA test.
April 15, 2010 at 1:36 am #12075NoraParticipantI had to laugh though when she was in mid sentence and Kate shut the door in Sami’s face! I thought it was hilarious!
April 15, 2010 at 3:43 am #1208553tdogsParticipantone thing you can say for the girl, she’s consistent! Same ol’ Sami – broken record – for years and years and years! Heck, right now, I’d be happy if she had a complete personality change for even just a while, become possessed, get bonked on the head by the same guy who got Justin and the D.A., anything!
April 15, 2010 at 9:11 am #12092SWParticipantjudge, could she be used by the DiMeras to get sole custody of Sydney and Johnny? I could see Stefano blackmailing her into ruling his way in any type of custody battle. Rafe would then have to save Sami and her kids by proving the corruption and EJ’s role in the Sydnapping.
This is just conjecture – no proof or spoiler!
April 15, 2010 at 12:48 pm #12100drea4713ParticipantI don’t think she really bought that Stefano was sick. She said before they left her house that she hadn’t agreed to it, but since EJ was going to do it anyway, she wanted to be there for her kids and tagged along. As EJ pointed out, it was his night with the kids, so when he said they were staying the night at the mansion, what choice did she have? He knew she objected and did it anyway, so her cards were all played. I think she knows something is up.
I don’t think she’s an idiot for wanting to believe that EJ has changed. She made a great point while talking to Roman that she knows what it feels like to want people to believe you’ve changed. I think she’s just showing some grace and mercy. To a certain extent, he has changed. Once he realized he still loved her, you could tell on his face he deeply regretted what he had done.
April 15, 2010 at 1:08 pm #12102PattiParticipanthe is the one who declared his independence from Stefano; he has been the one saying he wanted nothing more to do with his father or his business or his lifestyle. Now, suddenly overnight all of what E.J. has been telling Sami is out the window. You make it sound like he wanted to take the kids to see their grandfather. That’s not the case at all. He was forced into it. If E.J. had his way, he and Sami would be living together for real, and he would have already replaced Rafe in Sami’s bed. This is why I’m so ticked off at the dragging out of this storyline. Everybody knows that E.J. and Sami and Rafe are going to be the quintessential triangle, probably forever, so for as much as I get disgusted with Sami and her rantings and ravings over kids she seldom has anyway, she’s right to want to keep them as far away from Stefano and Kate as possible, and for E.J. to cave like he did should show her that he can’t be trusted anymore than his father can.
