This has had me puzzled for quite some time. If James Scott left Days suddenly (at least according to the stories I’ve read) a couple of months before Alison Sweeney, does anyone know how the writers are going to write that period of time between? Maybe what I read was not true about JS leaving suddenly; but, if he did, the writers would have had no warning…one day he’s there…the next he’s gone. I guess the fact that Days is so far ahead in their taping explains why JS is still onscreen; but, shouldn’t his absence be part of the story pretty soon? I had heard that he left in April and that Days is about four months ahead. Just wondering out loud.
I placed this topic on the Annex Board in case anyone knows something that might turn out to be a spoiler.
According to Soap Opera Digest, his last taping was May 2. That would keep him on screenuntil October. Of course they could have taped his ending scenes before he left. They don’t tape in sequence. They can still have them together by pre taping his scenes.
Although he stated that he had a life changing experience in {eru, DOOL execs said he was leaving to pursue other opportunities.
that TPTB did know he was going to leave rather abruptly and had enough time to get the story together for his departure and it was just the public that was surprised?
I am not sure, but they had to have a SL for Alison’s departure so they must have had something.
He came back from his trip in April and left in May. Maybe they tweaked the SL or maybe they planned on him leaving with Ali to return later. Not sure. Ali was scheduled to leave in June so they had to have something in place.
