I hate this character more than I have ever hated her. She has a lot of gall to stand there and berate her sister when she actually had sex with EJ and then actually lied to Rafe in front of Will. She is just an unlikeable character for me. I love Ali Sweeney, but the writers never seem to write this character well. She’s always over the top yelling and screaming and it is a real turn-off for me. JMHO.

it’s not about Ali’s acting skills either (although I do hate her growl/scream voice) but how "Sami" is acting. I have read though, that Marlena seems to make her realize she is to blame for a lot of her issues. So lets hope she really lets that sink in.

I’ll have to see that to believe it. I do think the writers have let Sami’s character sink too far, and I have longed hoped for Sami to seek counseling to deal with her Marlena/John issues.
I never want to see Sami lose her spunk, but it’s high time for her to mature and lose this constant snippy attitude.

Sami has always been immature and unable to take responsability for her actions so she is staying true to her nature. The fact that so many people hate Sami means that Ali is doing her job well. After all if everyone was sweet and mature, there would be no show. There has to be fractured people who are not too nice.

Sami is a product of her past who has never matured nor grown up because she is unable to take any responsibility for becoming a strong woman who is in control of herself. It is much easier to blame others of her failures than to admit she has no one to blame but herself.

I guess it is frustrating that after all these years, she has not grown up. Now, she may very well lose the best things she has ever had because she cannot let go of the past.

the writing staff has practically destroyed the character of Samantha Gene Brady.  She was always insecure and blamed others for her own mistakes, but she has turned much worse than than, now, with going after Rafe and Carrie when she knows in her heart that their kiss was nowhere near the betrayal her and E.J. pulled off.  I do believe Marlena will make her realize that, but these writers, in particular, have my complete blame for this character’s assassination.  Ali is doing a great job, but it’s very hard, even for me who loves Sami, to listen to her lately.

for this character  – I’m never blaming Ali, (she is a consummate actress).  I am only distressed as a fan of the show for over 20 year at the writers and their endless theme of keeping this character in Peter Pan Land and never letting her grow up.

PS – this was suppose to go in as it’s own post, not as a reply. – My butterfingers…

Most notably at the moment Jennifer and Abe. These are two people who NEVER in the past would have done anything that didn’t REEK of integrity. But now…they are both guilty of getting down in the mud with EJ. And why? Just to allow this stupid plot of Will setting up the voting scandal and making Will a lost boy, just like his mother is a lost girl. I really kept hoping for better, and it was for a while, but now…and what do we have to look forward to? Carrie/Abigail and Austin, oh yea rolling on the floor laughing when Jack told Jen he wanted Abby to talk to a woman closer to her own age, and Rafe/Sami/Carrie which I swear will make me violently ill to watch. Especially if they reunite Sami with one more of her exes (Lucas?). Or Maybe they will redeem themselves and let Marlena and Lucas make Sami grow up. But I doubt it.

Sorry again. this was suposed to go under Patti’s post.

Carrie and Jenn are close in age if not the same age. Did Jack have brain damage when he was gone?   If Austin doesn’t tell Carrie soon I can see a lot of trouble for Carrie. I was also surprised that no one mentioned how the guy was already involved so maybe Abby should have waited before she jumped. Abby needs help fast.

My statement has nothing to do with Alison Sweeney, it has everything to do with Samantha Gene Brady Hernandez. I so desperately want her to start acting like a 30 something, mother and career woman, not like the 15 yr. old we were introduced to in the 80’s. I desperately want her character to grow up and stop this insane jealousy and hatred of her sister, deal with her own personal shortcomings and start acting like an adult.

I see you used the word consummate as an adjective but I also see where it could be used as a verb when it comes to Sami.

I understand your frustration about Sami, but in real life there are many like her who cannot let go of the past cause it is easier to blame it than to grow up.

In fact, there are probably more of them than we are aware of.  It’s so much easier to blame someone else for your shortcomings than it is to own up to them.  Just sit in a court room sometime and listen to the excuses used for breaking the law.  It’s always someone or something else to blame.

But I don’t think they’ll ever let Sami change on the show.  There is just too much drama they can conjure up as long as she stays this way.  We’re just going to have to put up with her as she is.

pull the same ol’ immature crappiola when she is in her sixties, (of course, at our age you and I at that time Bon, will be watching on the big screen in the clouds by then).
