I loved Sami’s little plot to turn EJ against Nicole, that fake phone call to Brady. She seems to be finally thinking things through and she didn’t need any prompting from Rafe. Also, when Johnny ran away and Sami found out, she didn’t go off on EJ.

January 7, 2011 at 2:22 pm #19808annieoParticipantI thought the apartment scene with the negligee seemed and looked very contrived as she kept trying to lead EJ to the couch and pillows, but on the other hand her actions yesterday in the police department, to me, was some of the best acting I’ve watched her do in a very long time. I get to the point where I think all her fascial expressions look pretty much the same, but yesterday at the station she finally acted more mature and believable. I like her much better this way. I also think Melane has suddenly grown up in both her looks and acting.

I do hope the writers mean for us to believe it is due to Rafe. I mean how many more husbands can Sami go through? Been there, done that too often. She has a good strong guy now and I hope Days keeps this pair together.
January 7, 2011 at 5:25 pm #19814PattiParticipantand he has, without a doubt to me, made her a better person. All this time E.J. has been telling that innocent little boy that his mother did not want him, that she wanted him to live with E.J., that she wanted Rafe now and not Johnny, while Sami has never, ever one time said that to Johnny. She may have said some awful things to E.J. before the wormed turned in his favor where Johnny and Sydney were concerned, but she never told the children that their father didn’t want them or love them; just the opposite, she tells Johnny that for a while he’s going to live with daddy and that he should take care of daddy, and that his daddy loves him very much. That to me was a huge improvement over the old Sami, but I have to admit, I do like her standing up for herself to E.J., and that Rafe just sits back and allows her to ‘get it out,’ regardless of how smug E.J. is with her. Rafe is the best thing ever to happen to Sami. I hope they last forever, but knowing these writers, I’m sure they’ll find some way to spoil it ….. BUT NOT WITH E.J. PLEASE!
January 8, 2011 at 12:12 am #1982453tdogsParticipanthas a few more to catch up with her. I don’t think Sami (if Rafe has a brain at all) will be with Rafe in the "forever" mode.
January 8, 2011 at 7:59 am #19839GoodyParticipantthere was no such thing as a ‘forever’ mode in Salem. It would be nice to see a forever relationship again.

All of the couples we’ve come to love were either broken up, divorced, or widowed: Shawn and Caroline, Mickey and Maggie, Justin and Adrienne, Kimberly and Shane (at least they reunited), Jack and Jen (with this walkabout nonsense), Bo and Hope. Am I missing anyone? I guess the show is trying to reflect the statistic that 50% of marriages end in divorce or something.
January 8, 2011 at 2:09 pm #19849DeeLanParticipantAbe and Lexie have broken up or come close to it so many times and usually due to Lexi’s wandering eye and Abe’s insecurities. Doug and Julie had a rocky start and there were many times it looked like they’d never get together but once they did they’re as solid as Tom and Alice but maybe that’s because they stayed away from Salem for so long and even now they’re always jaunting off someplace.
January 9, 2011 at 6:45 pm #19890majencoParticipantI have always been a Lumi fan but I have to admit, Rafe has helped Sami mature the tiniest bit and that is cause for celebration!
