When she found out the church was booked on Christmas Eve (like duh!) she acted like a spoiled brat and poor Rafe had to do cartwheeels to satisfy her need for vow renewal.
I sure do hope Will breaks in with a shocking announcement. I wanna see Sami get it.

Sami (or so she has always thought).  I’ve thought for a long time now the exact same thing you said in your last sentence Casey!  No sympathy at all for this spoiled, whiney, cry-baby of a so-called woman.

Me too I wanna see her get it. It would be perfect for will to do it when they say is there any reason these two should. Not be married.

Do we see Sami in each of the words below?    YES!!!

When I see the words petulant or petulance, I always immediately think of ‘childish’.     Maybe it is just me………

they say that for vow renewals as they are already legally married.  But it would be a very good dramatic effect to be able to do so.

No, I don’t think Will is going to spill the beans for quite some time, although I don’t know why he’s keeping it a secret.  It seems to me he would at least have told Marlena because she is duty bound to keep it to herself.  That way he wouldn’t have to be carrying this burden all by himself.

mouth shut when she saw Rafe and Carrie hugging.  It’s almost like she’s getting a little pay back for what she did to Carrie all those years when she was after Austin!

I’ve said it before. She’s so spazzy, rushes into any room like she’s on fire, is bratty and pouty and selfish. Blah.

I have always loved Sami.  Now, I must admit that she is not progressing as well as I imagined she would, even with Rafe and a job.  Maybe she is no longer KC’s golden girl who can do no wrong in his eyes.  Seems to me past several sets of writers simply do not want to improve the character, and she seems to be receding instead of moving forward.  Maybe they just don’t care as much about the character or the actress, but, I just can’t help myself, I love Sami, always have, always will, even though I might not always like what she does.  She is a major, major character on this show, like it or not, and though everyone complains about her, she will always be one of my faves.

Like her or not, I feel that Sami is a believable character. I bet everyone know a Sami.

An adult who has issues with her childhood and family and allows these issues to cloud her judgment and excuse her actions.  Someone who talks and acts first and considers the consequences later. Someone who turns to the family she often despises for help when she gets in trouble, and usually doesn’t appreciate the help that is given. Sami is a work in progress who really needs therapy so she can let the past go.

She has always depended on her family, but somehow feels that she is never put first by her family.

T’he best part is Ali does a great job at making people take sides about who Sami is so Ali does her job well.  Some say she is over the top, but I feel that IS who Sami is. A person who will take shortcuts, lie, cheat, and do whatever it takes to get what she wants. Ironically, she is guilty of dling the same thing as her mother and will have to finally face the consequences.

Yes, I know a Sami in real life and it’s sad.  The thing is that person nor Sami will change unless they WANT to and with people around you accepting their behavior is enabling them to continue.

Sami needs to experience tough love by everyone in her life and hit bottom before she will want to change. Oh, some go the tough love route such as Will’s doing now out of anger but like Kate’s kids he always comes back and accepts her for who she is, until the next time.

How many times has she done something evil to Carrie yet when Carrie comes back they’re the best of friends.

Will has disowned his mother at least 3 times.  First he went to live with Carrie and Austin but came back as the loving son. Then he goes to live with Grandma Kate but ends up back at Sami’s as the loving son and now he’s moving out again. How long will this one last?

How many times has she tried to hurt John?  I do remember the Stan incident but not sure about the rest.  As soon as she apologizes to John she’s accepted back in the fold and now she’s disowning him again.

She’s always turning against Marlena but Marlena should turn the tables and not be there for Sami when she feels she needs her mother.  Let her get a taste of it.

She’s done some really far out things to Austin and the last time she almost cost him Carrie but he comes back and is her biggest supporter.

that the writers will let her grow up…but as for the rest of what you said LynneKaren – SO TRUE, soooooooo true!

She’s obviously become a beloved character to many fans dispite her flaws so I guess they’ll just keep her that way.  Why fool with a good think?  The only thing you can say about her is Sami is Sami and will always be Sami.

Changing Sami for the better would probably be as disastrous as trying to make Stefano a good guy.  Remember when they did that way back?  It was a complete and total failure.  Nobody liked him that way.  I’m not sure I’d like Sami anymore either if they let her "grow up."

(besides the fact  that her character is old, as in very predictable and tired to watch, as we all know what Sami is going to do, i.e., fly off the handle, whine, snivel, cry, rant, rave, place blame on others, yadda-yadda, yadda), is for continuity of  the show.  Sami is 35-37 years old.  Mother of four children, (maybe more in the future – yeech – poor kids).

Carolyn, is never shown on the show much anymore.  Maggie is getting up there in the long-of-tooth, (with no offense intended to this beautiful woman but it’s a fact).  And as for Marlena and Kate and even Hope – they are older now as well.  Hence Sami should be maturing.  She should grow into the area of Hope, Marlena, etc., is now as the younger crowd so start to edge into her current realm with young families of their own…the "circle of life" if you will.

Let Mel, or Abby, Gabby or even Will take on Sami’s persona non grata of whiney and bitchy if the writers think they need a Melrose Place Lindsey Lohan type character to make the show "pop".
