but I hate to see it go away. I only use it if my DVR malfunctions, there is a local pre-emption or for any other reason I might miss Dayson NBC. I don’t want to sit and watch it on my computer so, for that reason, I will miss it.
However, i can see where there is not enough viewers to warrant keeping it on the air. With so many soaps falling by the wayside, I’m sure SoapNet also lost a lot of viewers. But again, we have to keep that Disney stock’s value up there where it’s always been. :o)

From what I have heard, soap net is staying on indefinitely as they are having issues with Disney Jr. A VCR doesn’t solve the problem of a network that constantly interrupts. I don’t object to Disney Jr. but I do hate that TIIC are substituting SoapNet for it. The ads on SoapNet are all for Chew/Revolution whick I am sure is annoying to those who watched AMC or OLTL (which were dumped in favor of that stuff). Even Katie Curic is demanding that GH be her lead in versus the Rev as it is so low in ratings. I also think that the teen set will not be able to watch GH when they move it to 2 pm as they are most likely still in school at that hour. Maybe that is another of their plans: move it so the ratings drop and they can justify cancelling another soap?
April 8, 2012 at 3:39 pm #32303PattiParticipantI’ve really been enjoying the old AMC and OLTL shows, which they have been showing since before they were taken off the air. I’ll also miss One Tree Hill, which I love watching the old re-runs. The show just wrapped up it’s final season of regular programmming. I guess it’s a mixed bag of emotions, but for me, with no small children in the house, I would prefer to keep SoapNet.
By the way, today is April 8, 2012, and I’m still getting SoapNet, so they must be switching to Disney, Jr. and removing SoapNet as Disney contracts with various cable companies, etc., in various states are completed. But for now, I have Comcast and we are still getting SoapNet here in Maryland.
April 8, 2012 at 3:42 pm #32305NoraParticipantI usually never watched days on soap net, I have on occasion, but usually I’m home when days is on, so I watch it live. Which sucks sometimes because you can’t FF. Lol. I used to watch the old episodes of 90210. It’s funny watching it when they were still in high school.
April 8, 2012 at 3:53 pm #32307PattiParticipantwhen I watch one of those old prime-time soaps and see someone recognizeable from a current soap, realizing this is where they got their start. So young back them, and seeing them now still in soaps just blows my mind.
April 9, 2012 at 2:26 pm #32314MKParticipantAgree, SW. I DVR Days every day and at LEAST once a week now, the local news station has to pre-empt the show for "breaking news" which most of the time, is not really something I need to know. I know we’re both from the same area and it gets irritating at some of the things they need to interrupt the show for. "A suspicious smell at a Boston building sent employees out to the streets for 1/2 hour. Turns out the smell was from somebody who ate one too many Fiber One bars at lunchtime". More at 11:00.
April 12, 2012 at 4:53 pm #32402IzzyBParticipantWhen the local network decides to interupt days I did tape soapnet during the whole casey anthony thing and I was annoyed because it was not high def. So online is better quality than soapnet for me I learned. For me they don’t interupt it that often.
Brighthouse has Disney Jr in high def now and soapnet still on digital. So not sure what the plans are for Brighthouse. I know we still have both right now and we got Disney Jr in March. Which this works for me since I wouldn’t watch Disney Jr if not on high def. I know… I know… I am spoiled. But really on a big TV digital looks pretty bad.
April 12, 2012 at 5:31 pm #32405BonbonParticipantthan any other cable company. Since ABC (Disney) owns SoapNet, it’ll be changed all across the board…for everybody. It’s not a choice a cable company can make. When it’s gone, it’s gone for everyone.
