i’m surprised no one has posted about Sonny yet. So far I think I like him, granted he’s only been on one day but so far so good. you really could see that spark between him and Will too. I know alot of people are turned off by this but I think it could be a good story, granted I definetly do not want to see a love scene but I think it could be good esp with Will and Gabby remaining friends. i was only half watching today though but i thought it was pretty good, oh wait, KATE, her blue streak is spreading!!!! OH NO! LOL!!!!! she has it in her bangs now!
June 23, 2011 at 8:22 pm #24726mommytutuParticipantI didn’t see a Sonny on there yesterday.
June 23, 2011 at 8:42 pm #24727NoraParticipantyeah it’s on today’s show.
June 24, 2011 at 8:16 pm #24749Karen InnaParticipantHe definately has some charisma.
June 24, 2011 at 9:06 pm #24751JannParticipantHaven’t seen today’s show yet, but I saw yesterday. This is a pretty unbelievable story line, with Gabby worried about Will not kissing her. They were all over each other the past couple of weeks, and suddenly he doesn’t want to kiss her as though they were rewriting history. Just can’t believe this turn around.
June 25, 2011 at 8:24 pm #2478353tdogsParticipantthank goodness I’m not watching DOOL for the summer.
June 26, 2011 at 2:29 pm #24787mommytutuParticipantI definitely need to see more of him to judge his acting. I am not at all bothered by the gay storyline. It is a fact of life and at least we’re not transplanting faces, making body doubles and killing off people who aren’t really dead. Finally a story that is pertenant to real life and that some viewers can identify with. I must say, I did like the way he talked with Justin and Adrienne in regards to Victor. For some people the issue of someone being gay is absolutely no big deal, but let’s face it, Victor is from my mother’s generation, is from the "old country" and grew up during a time where people did not mention homosexuality. I am looking forward how they introduce this Victor and all of the sensitivity of the issue. JMHO.
June 26, 2011 at 7:59 pm #24793BonbonParticipantI’m around Victor’s age and have no problem with homosexuality at all. I feel it is something a person has no control over any more than they do over if they are right or left handed. And I don’t think all of a sudden one day they wake up and decide they are gay. Every gay person I know knew there was something "different" about them from a very early age.
What I DO have a problem with is changing someone (Will) whom we’ve know all his life into a gay person just all of a sudden. THAT I can’t buy. If they want to bring Sonny in as a gay person, then bring in someone else new for him.
June 27, 2011 at 4:00 pm #24811IzzyBParticipantI mean it was in front of his grandmother. At that age I wasn’t too into kissing my BF’s in front of my relatives. Maybe he feels uncomfortable with it not being in private. Or maybe the pressure of having sex is what is causing this to start to come out. Maybe he doesn’t want to have sex and that is starting to make him realize he is a little different than other men and that is freaking him out. I honestly don’t think it is totally out of the realm of possibilities.
June 27, 2011 at 4:07 pm #24812IzzyBParticipantI think Will is the perfect guy for this mission. First of all, just because you feel different, doesn’t mean you show that difference to the outside world. We are the outside world. Also, he has had a pretty messed up life, I mean he has felt different probably his whole life and chalk it up to his parents fighting and everything else that has gone on in his life. Will has always been this very nice person, especially around woman. He has treated them way differently than most men his age. To me it is almost like that best friend relationship at that age vs a true gf/bf thing. I mean he doesn’t push sex and it almost seems like he doesn’t want to do that. I mean lets face it, that is odd for that age group. I mean some men don’t push the woman, but they are normally working toewards it in their head one way or another. I see Will and this actor as perfect for the role and I think it will be MUCH more interesting see a core family member struggle with this and telling everyone vs a complete stranger. I like Sonny and I think he is also going to do well. And I think the dynamic between him and victor will be good, but I think Will’s coming out is going to be more interesting because of the dynamics he has with people now vs. later.
June 27, 2011 at 11:57 pm #24824PattiParticipantand your entire post for that matter. BUT, the main thing is it cannot be rushed. If they rush it, they ruin it. This young man will have a whole new bag of emotions he will have to learn to deal with, and it must be taken slowly….very slowly….for it to work. But Chandler Massey as Will Horton is definitely the right actor for this particular story line for all the reasons stated in your post, and I have to say I’m looking forward to it now, and they could not have cast a better actor for Sonny than Freddie Smith, IMO. I think this is is going to be a huge success if taken slow and easy, and it’s a perfect umbrella story line, because it’s bound to affect many characters, and not just Will and Sonny.
June 28, 2011 at 3:55 am #24830IzzyBParticipantIs that the old writers are writing the beginning of this SL. Because I fear it won’t be done properly or at the right pace. I hope I am wrong and it is done correctly, because I think it can be an awesome SL. Something different, exciting, and so REAL. No one is getting their face to look like someone else or be implanted with a chip – lol I am sick of those "different" SLs.
June 28, 2011 at 1:32 pm #24833PattiParticipant17 episodes formerly written by Higley have been revised or "tweaked", as they like to say, and I have a feeling the gay story line might just be one of them. I just cannot believe that the new writers would have allowed this to go unnoticed if, in fact, Dena and her staff tried to rush this S/L. I need to see more of Will’s anxieties and frustrations and hidden emotions, not just from his family and friends, but from his own self. So, please, writers …. do it right or not at all.
June 28, 2011 at 2:41 pm #24837IzzyBParticipantDid they re-tape anything. Because I thought by the time they took over all of July had already been taped. Which means we have another month before the new head writers took over. That is the month that scares me. Hopefully Dena didn’t have Will’s SL front and center in that month because the Rafe2 SL, Brady beating up EJ, and Carly’s drug problems should be the front and center SLs.
