So the big thing with them is that Maddie had a congressman for a client and when he saw them taping him, they killed him?
I have to say I saw that coming a while back when Kate had that hallucination of blood on her hands. I can’t recall this, but was Stefano a pimp? and do pimps tape their "clients"?
Please don’t tell me the document in Madeline’s envelope says that Stefano is Chad’s father, or that someone other than Charles is his father! (Even though it probably does)

June 22, 2010 at 10:57 am #13819BonbonParticipantbecause he was adopted.
And I don’t know about anybody else but I’m tired of this storyline already. I can see it’s going to be EXTREMELY contrived.
June 22, 2010 at 1:01 pm #13823PattiParticipantat holding my damn interest in these storylines. It was funny to the extent that Stefano was really getting into it watching Maddie, who most definitely wasn’t Jessica Tuck, no matter how far back it was supposed to have been filmed, but it might have been her voice. Other than the Congressman, there was no possibility of identifying anyone on that tape. Madelyn’s face was never shown, and no proof of a death, although there was a clear indication of a crime; however, neither Stefano nor Kate were ever shown on the tape. Madelyn never said her full name, just "hi, I’m Maddie," but she did reveal the Congressman’s name, which was a deal-breaker and a "dead" give-away that something or someone was watching. He knew he was being screwed in more ways than one. I don’t think these high profile Johns would use their real names when they’re with a hooker ("Oh, that’s okay, Monica, you don’t have to call me "Mr. President"). And, as far as the murder itself was concerned, if not for Maddie yelling ‘he’s dead,’ it would appear he was simply hit over the head and knocked unconscious. The whole thing was poorly written, filmed and acted, so, sorry writers, but once again, no cigar! It was laughable more than anything else, like when he threw her OFF the bed, backwards, and then they threw him back ON the bed and the lamp on top of him. Not a drop of blood but dead as a doornail — go figure. I imagine we were supposed to deduce he was bashed over the head with the lamp, but what proof to show he was hit by Kate and/or Stefano. At that point it struck me funny considering Chloe plunged some 400 or 500 feet down an elevator shaft and woke up the next day, memory intact, with nothing more than a few cuts and bruises, and I believe something else miraculously to be divulged. I am, however, convinced that the document Kate picked up uttering "OMG, Stefano can’t know about this" was Chad’s birth certificate proving he’s Stefano’s kid.
June 22, 2010 at 1:07 pm #13824DeeLanParticipantMaybe that’s the story Madeline left Salem after Stefano killed that guy and had the baby She told Chad and everyone he was adopted to keep Stephano from finding out she was pregnant. A little back history that recycles the Sami/EJ/Pregnancy storyline.
June 22, 2010 at 1:52 pm #13826caseyParticipantwho can take it seriously? Surely writers can come up with more than this. Even the dialog/acting was amateurish in that scene. And I’m betting Chad is a Dimera. Since Tony is gone it opens a “slot” for another Steph kid.
June 22, 2010 at 2:25 pm #13828luckeyParticipanthearing Maddie say Stephano’s name on the tape at some point. Does anyone else recall hearing that?
June 22, 2010 at 3:32 pm #13830GoodyParticipantShe did say Stephano’s name; plus, we heard Stephano’s voice say, "Leave her along".
Goody
June 22, 2010 at 5:10 pm #13832DeeLanParticipantI’m still thinking Maddie left Salem after the murder and had Chad but told him he was adopted to keep the secret from Stefano. Even if his name’s not on the birth certificate, Madeline as birth mother and the date should tell a lot.
I may be wrong on this but when my cousin adopted his granddaughter her birth certificate was changed to list him as father and the mother space was blank. So, wouldn’t any birth certificate be changed to reflect the adopted parents as the parents and not the bio parents.
June 22, 2010 at 8:30 pm #13834BonbonParticipantthe tape was just a ploy to discover whatever it is Kate found in that envelope. I think that’s going to be the main storyline.
BTW, poor Madeline is buying her clothes at WalMart. While visiting my son, we were going out on his boat and his MIL didn’t have anything appropriate to wear so she ran over to WalMart and came back with the exact same blouse Madeline is wearing. And, gawd!, I wish they’d do something with that horrible hair. With her face shape, that long, straight, thin, hair certainly isn’t very flattering.
June 22, 2010 at 9:23 pm #13837macrrParticipantlets think about this. Stephano has EJ, and his granchildren (Johnny and Sydney); he has Lexie and grandchild (Theo). Why would Kate care if Chad was Stephano’s child? Kate doesn’t even know Chad, and she doesn’t like Madeline. So, why would she risk incurring Stephano’s wrath by keeping such a ginormous secret from him? It sdoesn’t make sense to me. Anyone have a theory?
June 22, 2010 at 10:48 pm #1384653tdogsParticipant"happily" married couple and not even they are safe married from the writers!
June 22, 2010 at 11:38 pm #13847majencoParticipantIs it possible that Kate and Madeline have more of a past then Stefano knows about?
June 23, 2010 at 2:05 pm #13861drea4713ParticipantThere better be more coming with this. Kate seemed to be way more nervous about Madeline than Stephano, and that video didn’t give Kate any reason to worry. She’s not on it anywhere. I think I heard her voice, but her name was never mentioned (and who can convict on a voice?!). So there HAS to be more to this story.
June 23, 2010 at 4:07 pm #1387753tdogsParticipantbut Stefano doesn’t get riled (unless he’s fighting with la famiglia), Stefie gets even.
