Do they put people in straight jackets in sanitariums these days? And padded rooms as well?
Unless someone is a threat to the staff, other patients or themselves, they I don’t believe
show them into a padded room like that.
To shove Hattie (Marlena) into that room because she swears she is Marlena is as ludicrous
as the writing we are getting. And the same for John as well, just throw him into a room with
a straight jacket. And why would staff allow an outsider to stay in there anyway. They should
have called police that he had somehow gotten into a forbidden room.
Who is coming to feed them by the way? Never see any food trays and how could they
eat anyway with a straight jacket on?
I hope this storyline is short and sweet (hardly sweet). Since it appears Anjelica is going
to die, what will Hattie and Bonnie do now as they will have no directions from their “boss.”
We have been down this impersonation road before with Samantha, Marlena’s evil twin sister
who had her in an institution given shock treatments and drugged it memory serves me well.
I long for the good old Days literally. It was silly at times, but more watchable because of the
variety in plot and execution of plot. I have been watching the show since the 1960’s and while a
soap opera must change with the times, logic should also be a part of the overall plot.August 25, 2017 at 12:58 pm #53609caseyParticipantand would expect the SL to move ahead quickly if dumb and dumber are left to their own devices. I can only believe Days is after campy with these characters but a little has gone light years. My real beef is that this is bringing down the rest of the cast involved. Gee, how far do you have to go to get a clue?
Regarding the old Days, the Marlena possession was far out there but highly entertaining. This current drivel is not.September 4, 2017 at 8:46 pm #53622aathParticipantI like seeing the vets but too many beats of the story are missing and / or make no sense. John’s not a patient, Salem is still in America, how can they just commit him like that? We don’t even know who they think he is or what he’s done. So Dr. Hattie/Marlena says lock them up and shock em and that’s it. I don’t want to check my brain at the door to watch this show. Yikes. Move on new writers to something else. Not liking this story.
September 5, 2017 at 1:32 pm #53623PattiParticipantof the ‘spoofs’ you see about soap operas on commercials or comedy shows; the waaaay OTT acting, the music, the pain of watching talented and beloved actors being forced to perform this type of garbage….if Carlivati doesn’t move away from this soon, he will be in as much hot water with true fans of this show as is (Higley’s or whoever) this current writing and these stories are of late. It’s actually hard to watch for me, and I have been watching since practically day one. I’ve had to take breaks before for one reason or another; however, never because I felt like giving up on the show. I have to say my good Salem Place buddie, TFlo1085 knew what he was talking about when he suggested that the writers of yesteryear really did know what they were doing. They made me want to watch EVERY MINUTE OF EVERY DAY. Now, not so much. Too bad.
