Okay, are you guys happy now, Marty is gone? I hate it when they vote off the people I like and the jerks stay on. Quite frankly, there is nobody left that I really care about now. And I think Jeff hit the nail on the head about Naonka possibly being one of the final two. SHE NEEDS TO GO!!!! But, I’m wondering, is that really her or is she playing the game and nobody but Jeff is on to her.
I am very intrigued from the previews about what’s going to happen next week. They really got their hook in me. I’m thinking something happened to all their food. I don’t know what else could provoke such a reaction from them all. Ideas?
November 11, 2010 at 1:52 pm #18041PattiParticipantsimply because he was so cocky and sure that he could turn the tables on everybody else by using his intelligence and pseudo-planning ideas on who and who should not go. He didn’t fool anyone. They all had him pegged. Regarding next week, if something did happen to the food, as you believe, I don’t know what will save Naonka at that point, cause you know they would blame her; unless, of course, she wins immunity. But then she found and still has the hidden idol, doesn’t she? So, I don’t know if she’ll go next, but she is a target that will soon be hit, I’m sure. God help the finalists when they have to face her on the jury. I don’t know how much of her is game and how much is true to form, but if she is a finalist, it certainly wouldn’t surprise me. Now, would they vote to give her $1 million …. I don’t think so.
November 11, 2010 at 3:19 pm #18049BonbonParticipantWhich is why they’re letting her stay. If it came down to practically any one person and Naonka, that person would win for sure because nobody likes her. That makes her the ideal final two to go up against.
Awww, geeze, this show gives me brain trauma.
November 11, 2010 at 4:01 pm #1805353tdogsParticipantvery first season and if they had a jury on way back then, I don’t remember. What do they do? I think Survivor is like a game of chess, but some of the pawns are to sickening to watch – Marty gone is OK by me. NanaNO or whatever her name is needs to go – can’t stand her. Brenda is to cocky and sure of herself, and some of the guys should have stayed on their surf boards or tractors. Benry, Kelly B and Sash pretty much are hiding in plain sight waiting for the next kill. Dan I’m not even going to talk about.
November 11, 2010 at 10:53 pm #18073BonbonParticipantwho wins the million bucks. When they get down to three (it was originally two), each person on the jury gets to address the final three and ask them why they think they should win or whatever else they want to ask/say. Then those nine people vote on the winner. (If you remember on the first Survivor, the loud-mouthed woman who came in third told Kelly, second-place, that if she came upon her lying in the street she wouldn’t stop to help her.)
I’d like to take Brenda, Nanonka and Jane out in a boat, way far from shore, and dump them in the deepest water. Then we’ll see if all their hot air can keep them afloat.
November 11, 2010 at 11:16 pm #1807853tdogsParticipantone of the guys win it (or Kelly – than those three -itches. I don’t remember any of the first season really other than the gay guy who walked on the beach naked won (if memory serves) and then he lost it all due to not paying his taxes and I heard he is broker than he was going into the show.
A million dollars isn’t that much in this day and age at all. I mean we’d all love to have it but it’s just not a lot of money after paying all the taxes, you figure the government’s going to get at the very least one half of the winnings if not more.
I thought they all just battled down to the last person standing with the challenges – more interesting to me than to a jury picking one (that could be rigged for votes I’ll give you $10,000 a piece for your vote)…
I knew a guy who was 30 years retired military – he was 80 years old widower, no kids (brother had family) and living in a sort of old hotel type situation with a bunch of other old guys, he won 8 million in Cal. Lottery. in 1986 but with the feds and state government getting over one half of it- darn taxes. It still left him with a chunk more than he had but he passed away just shy of 84 and had a heck of a good time for three years but he still lived like he had thirty more years – frugally – gave to his brother, built himself a small house on his brother’s land, smoked his cigars, and he did take his brothers family to German twice – since the sis-in-law was from there, so good for him enjoying his last years.
November 17, 2010 at 4:26 pm #18231caseyParticipantmade me wonder if maybe something killed the chickens?
I’m not enamoured with any of these contestants.
I liked to watch Marty only because he seemed the most caught up in the game.November 18, 2010 at 3:34 pm #18267PattiParticipantLast night was a no-brainer as far as who was getting kicked off. Brenda just bragged a little too much about her and Sash being in ‘control of the game.’ Once he realized everybody was on to her, his alliance fell quicker than that campsite. It usually is a dead give-away when someone shows their hand that much. Marty did the same thing. I really think Brenda was so totally sure that Sash would save her by giving her the idol that she threw caution into the wind and made that fatal mistake. I’m sure when she was walking out that she was probably kicking herself for thinking she could trust him. This is not a game of trust – it’s dog eat dog, and I think when she thinks about it, she’ll realize that she should have played the game remembering that in most instances, or at least in this game of Survivor, silence is golden.
November 18, 2010 at 5:45 pm #18271BonbonParticipantIsn’t it kind of strange how they just kind of glossed over the fire. Geeze, I would think since practically all their food and all the other stuff they had was gone, that’d be pretty crucial. (You have to admit, that was a pretty stupid thing to do, put wooden crates around the fire. DUH!!! Apparently there isn’t one brain cell among all 12 of them.) Now, will the producers provide them with more food or will they let them starve. I’m willing to bet they will pull a Days moment and just forget it ever happened.
And damn, if Jane didn’t win that immunity idol. But it makes sense, she weighed way less than the guys and, as she said, from lifting 80 lb. dogs so she has a good set of biceps. I think those guys missed the boat on that one though. If they had put one hand around behind their back to hold the rope, it would have given them much more leverage and less strain on their arms. Hey, anyone want to hire me as a consultant?
November 19, 2010 at 3:06 am #18290deemarieParticipantThe “jury” in survivor is the last 8 or 9 people that are voted off before the finale. After they are voted off, they return to watch every tribal council, to listen to what has been happening in camp. At the end, they each get to question the 2 or 3 finalists, and ask them questions like “why should you get the money” and “what would you do differently”. They are the ones that vote for who should get the million dollar prize. Yes, there was a jury on the first survivor. That season, one of the contestants gave the famous “snake and rat” speech during the finale instead of asking a question.
November 20, 2010 at 6:27 pm #1833753tdogsParticipantmake a pack with another one of the stronger contestants that if they get on the jury, they could vote for the last one standing and the last one would share the million dollars with the other two or three? It’s possible.
November 21, 2010 at 12:32 pm #18340BonbonParticipantin their contract with the show they are forbidden from sharing any winnings with any other contestant or else they forfeit the whole million. Someone was way ahead of you Pammy.
November 21, 2010 at 8:15 pm #1834853tdogsParticipantin these days of transactions and someone could do it in a heartbeat. One way that comes to mind all the contestants would have to do is open up a company for a $20 dollar business license and the winner could "invest" in the company…and I can think of a lot of other ways.
There are ways around everything – rules are made to be broken when it comes to ethics and money – look at what happened in the House Ways and Means Committee and ol’ Charlie or Timmy G?
Granted a million dollars isn’t much in this day and age, especially after paying Fed., State and local taxes – the winner may see $400,000 even getting paid in payment increments yearly but to be guarenteed that amount – I know a lot of people that would say OK – you three each get paid a quick $50K or visa versa – the clincher would be that if they made a pact – and the winner would welch on the deal – the others would insure it would come out in the press. Share? Shmeaarrrrrre.
November 24, 2010 at 2:51 pm #18424caseyParticipantis particularly arrogant. When Brenda spouted that diatribe at Tribal Council she came off as cocky and over confidant. Don’t these people pay attention to history and what just happened to Marty? Serves them right to get booted.
It seems more and more the people who fly under the radar are the ones with the real power!
I have to give Jane kudos – she is really playing the game and though I don’t personally like her, she is doing the Outwit, Outplay, Outlast better than anyone to this point. The tribe better oust her the next time she doesn’t win immunity or they may regret it. -
