I have been trying to give the teens a chance but the acting is laughable. This actress cannot pull off a storyline of this magnitude. I just don’t see her growing into the role of Ciera. She is wooden and mumbly. Her facial expressions are just not believeable. I feel as if Claire is much better and believeable. Also on the hit list is Joey. Just awful. Neither will have the skill to play the torment these storylines are meant to convey. I know they’re young, perhaps they will still improve but so far I only like Claire and Chase. That is not a good sign.
are worthy of their roles. Joey I don’t mind but I do agree his acting needs improving. We’ve seen it before with actors impressing us with time. But I’d much rather see an animated, spunky Cierra like her younger self than the always downer girl Days is throwing at us. Maybe if she had some upbeat material I could warm up to her more. Yes, teens have problems but they also have fun.
both Vivian Jovanni and James Lastovic have been given far too serious a role for their inexperience to permit them to do well. However, I vaguely remember when Kristen Alfonso started in the role of Hope….she too left much to be desired in the way of acting and eventually grew into the role. The trouble with Jovanni is, I believe, still more her speech than her acting. She is difficult to understand at times, sort of much like Josh Taylor (Roman), who I still to this day find difficult to decipher most of his words. I do love the way the young actors resemble their on-screen parents, but they certainly have a great deal of room for improvement. I also agree that the young actors portraying Chase, Claire and Theo are much better in their roles, especially the young man portraying Theo Carver, who seems to be doing a good job, although he seems to me to display more of a teen with aspergers than autism.
Claire is great, she’s the only reason I was pulled in on Friday’s show. Ciera is still awful. Her mouth barely moves and her expressions don’t even go with the emotions she should be feeling. This is an extremely serious storyline and she has no emotion. I think my cat could do a better job.
As for Joey, I don’t mind him and I do think he can develop the skills for his storyline. Chase is not so good and we could get his story over with if we just send him to jail/juvenile hall for his rape of Ciera.
Theo is awesome! I love this actor. He plays every scene so well. I hope he sticks around for a very long time.

I really think that people forget when Kristin and Ali frist came on. Even some older actors take time to get into the role.
I really don’t mind any of them although I think the actor playing Theo is really doing a great job. I feel that he is high functioning on the spectrum. theo had very early intervention which would help with his progress.
Once again the horrible acting ruined what in the hands of more skilled actors, could have been a very compelling scene. The moments with Ciera and Chase in the warehouse could have been both suspenseful and poignant. Instead they seemed more like a school play. Ciera mumbles so much I can barely understand her.
Which is a shame, and as a survivor myself, I should feel compelled by this story. And I don’t. They’re in way over their heads.
quite frankly, I thought this might have been her best day. Actually, I really enjoyed the entire show today.
Plus, I am liking the new Philip (JPL) more and more every day. He is really a good actor in my opinion.
Well I’m glad some of you are enjoying her. I want to but can’t seem to warm up. This is heady material that calls for more emotion than I am seeing. As for Phillip, love him! Phillip, Chad and Theo are my currant favorites along with Nicole and surprisingly Gabbi as well.
I frimly believe that different people react differently. I think that Ciara has endured a lot of trama in the past weveral weeks. The loss of her father, the betrayal of Daniel ( whom she had come to love), not wanting Chase around, her mother going off and leaving her soon after Bo’s death, the fire, and of course Chase’s attack.
I think that all these things have caused her to shut down, keep things to herself and as I guess most women feel that she somehow cause this attack. I feel that she is doing well in this role if not how every one would react. Different stroke so to speak.
I guess nuPhilip is right for the role. I really don’t care for him as a person, but he is playing Philip as a real heel so he is doing the job. I really cannot stand Belle right now, she is a bit of a tramp.
The Autism Spectrum has several manifestations. My son is considered autistic and his type is Pervasive Developmental Disorder…which affects the societal development. He talks non-stop, holds great conversations, forms goals for himself, understands money, bills, spending, etc., has held a job for 18 yrs…..but to take him outside his comfort zone of family and close friends (ours), he has to be guided and scripted to what he says and how he acts. All the forms of autism bleed over into the others…Autism is just an umbrella diagnosis
the difference. I do see the difference, but perhaps the writers do not. Theo seems to be very shy with anyone other than his close friends, and unwilling to engage in conversation outside of their realm. There was a wonderful family show on either last year or the year before regarding a family with a teen who had Aspergers. Can’t remember the name of the show; something with "Family" in its name, but the young man was so good in the role. He spoke a mile a minute, but was a photography genius. I suppose people who do not have their own personal experience would find it difficult to differentiate between the two disorders. I certainly meant no disrespect.
