pulled back when Chase tried to kiss her was the first time since she was introduced that I spotted the emotion I had anticipated from this character. She and Chase have been too understated for my liking. If the director can pull the spunk from Ciara she will definitely be more interesting. Chase I just don’t know yet – he does not draw me in so far.
December 9, 2015 at 12:36 am #49986PattiParticipantmainly due more to Rafe than to Chase. He was so kind and compassionate with Chase, trying to convince him that he’s not his father and that what his father did didn’t define who he was now or he was going to be. I do think the character will leave at some point, well before the other teens though. He is not on contract, so I suspect that once he realizes that Ciara looks at him exactly as what he is…. her step-brother, and has absolutely no intention of being anything more, he will decide to leave Salem. I just hope he doesn’t take his disappointment out on Theo. If he does, and if Ciara becomes aware of it, that might/will change her opinion of him.
December 9, 2015 at 12:27 pm #49994mommytutuParticipantCiera is still a snooze for me. She shows absolutely no emotion. Sorry, but she really flat. I don’t even pay attention to her scenes. Chase could be better if his scenes were not with her. I love Theo! And I think Joey and Claire are really good. It might be a good idea to recast Ciera before we all start wishing she’d go to boarding school.
December 9, 2015 at 2:45 pm #49998PattiParticipantfor not believing in Bo in the first place. I’m not saying that she had no right to move on. I mean, how long are you supposed to wait for someone to come back? But this entire vigilante sl is based solely on Hope’s guilt, and nothing more. Bo Brady would never have wanted her to take on this role of the avenger. I need this sl to move at lightening speed. I don’t want to watch 3 months of this.
December 9, 2015 at 3:02 pm #50001BonbonParticipantso I can compare it some time down the road when Ciara becomes everybody favorite character and is no longer criticized for the way she is delivering her lines. I certainly learned that lesson with Brady (Kyle Lauder) because at first I thought he was the worst actor ever and absolutely hated him, along the same lines as I now feel about Theresa. But what happened? He completely turned me around.
So, I suspect this may happen with Ciara also and I will be able to compare then and now to see if she changes or we do, because I’m pretty sure it’s going to happen.
December 9, 2015 at 5:18 pm #50002caseyParticipantabout wanting this to be brief. I would rather see her having a breakdown and recovery. Which still could come.
December 10, 2015 at 2:21 am #50007TFlo1018ParticipantI’ll stand by it – just as I admit when I’m wrong though I don’t see me changing my mind about Vivian. Sorry Bon LOL
December 10, 2015 at 3:04 pm #50016BonbonParticipantjust that I think we become accustomed to the actors as they progress and begin to accept their idiosyncrasies as part of them and, in the end, end up liking the actor in the role, as I mentioned I did with the first Brady. And people have claimed many other cases over time where it has happened to them too.
So, let’s just see what happens. Personally, I don’t think she’s that bad. Yes, the clenched teeth is annoying but that is apparently the way she speaks and is not part of the role so I’ll just accept ol’ Vivie as she is. :o)
December 10, 2015 at 3:47 pm #50024dvalParticipantShe just says her lines and there doesn’t seem to be any real feeling behind them, even when she is with Hope and when she was with Bo. Maybe she will learn but I just don’t like her. I still can’t warm up to Drake Hogestyn and that whisper of his. Drives me bananas and I clench my own teeth every time he speaks.
December 10, 2015 at 10:20 pm #50027justwonderingParticipantI so agree with you. People have been critical of so many of the new actors. Then after awhile, most come around to liking the actors.
I don’t have a problem with Ciara. I don’t think that every new actor comes on board and immediately catch fire. I so remember people complaining about Chandler’s (Will) smirks when he first came on, the fact that Billy’s (Chad) was so differenct from old Chad. However, they became fan favs. i always felt that Guy Wilson never had a chance to be Will because so many people adored Chandler.
Rob (Ben) certainly started off slow and boy he turned out to be a terrific actor with this SL.
Yes, young Ciara was snarky and outspoken but this Ciara has just suffered a tremendous loss and so she is retreating into her self. Very believable.
December 11, 2015 at 3:54 pm #50036BonbonParticipantHe talks exactly the same way.
