OMG! How awful can this get. A doctor who is NOT a cardiac transplant specialist is replacing a heart on a dead woman (yes, she’s on life-support but she is still technically dead) in a NON-STERILE environment! Notice their clothes sticking out of their gowns, no hats on either Dan, Mel or Jen, Dan would need the special glasses to magnify the arteries he has to attach, and un-draped equipment all over the place. OMG! OMG! OMG!
I kind of feels like if they can’t give it at least some semblance of reality, don’t show us doing it. Keep us out of the infirmary room as if we were waiting for them to get finished to see what the outcome is.
And somebody needs to tweek the "blood," it is was way too red.
At least it looks like Dr. Dan isn’t the miracle worker after all and Dr. Ben is going to have to come in and save the day. Maybe that will redeem him and they can keep him on the show. Then he can start jumping through hoops to atone to Jennifer and win her admiration. I honestly feel like he didn’t know completely what was going on because of his statement, "They didn’t die of natural causes?" to Dan (or was it Bo?).
Please keep Ty on the show, oh, please, please, please… I weally, weally wuv him.
February 3, 2011 at 1:07 pm #20600DeeLanParticipantit looked like they were operating on her lower abdomen. They were too far away from her head to be operating on her heart
February 3, 2011 at 2:24 pm #20604PattiParticipantsince none of these nincompoops can rise to the occasion and perhaps have a staff member do some research on it so as not to make it appear like children playing doctor. They make complete fools out of themselves every single time they attempt to do a medical procedure, and there’s just no excuse for it. Ever heard of "Google" writers? You wouldn’t even have to spend the money to hire a true-blue medical advisor; a simple asset like knowing how to read would work much to your benefit than the life and death medical farces you all insist on presenting time after time after time. Honestly, it is THE most frustrating part of soaps, far beyond the love/hate personalities of the characters’ themselves.
February 3, 2011 at 2:50 pm #20614mommytutuParticipantbut after seeing Jennifer lying there without a heart for 2 days I’m wondering why they would keep her alive to begin with. And then, could she really live on life support without a heart? I agree that they shouldn’t even do these stories if they can’t at least have a little bit of reality. This is like a sci-fi B movie–just awful!
February 3, 2011 at 3:44 pm #20617MKParticipantI noticed that too! I was really laughing wondering why they were putting her heart back way down in her belly!!
February 3, 2011 at 5:02 pm #2061853tdogsParticipantI haven’t watched yet, and FF’d through Mon. and Tue. shows – I just don’t have the strength to sit there and watch this idiocy……thank goodness for you brave souls, I can get the jist of it reading your comments without having to actually subject myself to this…
February 3, 2011 at 5:27 pm #20620DeeLanParticipantWhen they first showed her on life support and I’d heard that Daniel was going to be the one to put the heart back all that went through my mind was WHY. She’s on a ventilator, which I couldn’t figure out why since they took her heart why keep giving her oxygen. Then the fact that after 6 minutes she’d be brain dead or at least be a vegetable for the rest of her life since giving her oxygen does nothing to get it pumped to the brain. Then when Daniel said they kept her on bypass to harvest the rest of her organs I said "thank God they answered that question" but now I’m wondering why a prison infirmery has a bypass machine. Those are usually used in cardiac ICU’s and you have to have special training to use them. A doctor may know how to hook them up and take them off but the monitoring of them requires a technician 24/7.
February 4, 2011 at 2:23 pm #20638NoraParticipantI’m sure Stefano supplied the bypass machine.
