I KNOW most people on this board HATE Sami and E.J., well, except for me and TFlo1018; however, I really like the way they are being written now. The very dark feelings they both have for Stefano, and yet still realizing that they love one another more than ever, and refuse to let anyone or anything stand in their way. Sure, they have all sorts of turmoil running through their minds, and maybe even affecting the decisions they’re making now, but rest assured, it will be their decisions and no one else’s. Folks will try to convince me that E.J. is this horrible dark self-serving character, and Sami is this selfish me-me-me-boob interested only in herself, but by God, no one will ever convince me that this couple doesn’t love the ground one another walks on. They deeply love their children, and I know that many don’t believe that Sami is a good mother, but I haven’t seen one mother in Salem who loves her children more, especially right now? The only reason she is so torn right now is because of E.J.’s obligation to Stefano, and now she knows that it is not of his own doing, but deep down I think Stefano really wants them there, and I think at some point soon he will prove it.

In the meantime, I hope they keep writing Sami and E.J. this way, because it is exactly the way I have always wanted them to be written — ruthless and even threatening when it comes to getting what they want from everyone else, but maintaining an endless, boundless love for one another. I hope there is a wedding at some point, and they finally make an honest couple of them, and I realize here and now that I will only have one supporter on this topic, but when E.J. walked out that door on Friday, my heart ached for him, and the same with Sami when she flashed back to her reasons for hating Stefano, then let her mind wander to how much she truly loves E.J. I felt for both of them when she turned her face up to kiss him and he turned his away and walked out, giving her the time and space she needs to sort things out.

Call me a romantic, or a goof, or whatever you want to, but I love the way these writers are finally getting it right with EJAMI.

I can’t believe I am even saying this but I actually really like Sami and EJ together now!  They have been growing on me for a while now.  Yes, Patti, you heard correctly LOL!   I do believe they truly love one another, especially after what EJ did to get Sami out of prison.  Does EJ still have the capability to be dark?  Absolutely!  though I do not believe it would involve Sami in any way.  Is Sami still selfish?  Not nearly as much as she used to be.   I don’t mind these traits as much as long as they are not used with each other.  If they remain honest with each other and treat each other with respect, then I will remain a true fan.

We must meet and have drinks one day LOL   We are so in sync it’s scary.

A…. there is no mom on the show right now that is shown with her kids as much as Sami is.  How often is a kid born and either shipped upstairs or to boarding school to never be seen again until their turmoil teen years?!?

B… People have issues with EJ b/c he raped Sami – that’s always been his main issue for most viewers… How quickly everyone forgets that Sami raped Austin.  If you hate him then you MUST hate her.  Though the way I see it is if she has forgiven EJ for the rape, then why, as viewers, can’t we forgive him too?!?  I know I have.  Btw, I don’t condone rape, just making a point.

C…  They adore each other.  She has never been more alive with any other man on the show.  Sami/Austin – never meant to be.  Sami/Lucas – even at their best more friendly then romantic.  Sami/Brandon – purely sexual chemistry and nothing else.  Sami/Rafe – cute, BUT Rafe wanted her to be something she clearly was not.  No one else was worth mentioning.

The way they are being written is EPIC.  There’s none of this "bumping into each other BS" we are forced to watch over and over.  It’s not as cheesy as the good girl/bad boy storyline we’ve seen before.  It’s not as depressing as two coming together in the face of tragedy.  It’s 2 characters who have been attracted to each other from day one but are accepting of who they both are (a bit of a baddie with some good thrown in) and make each other better.

So yes…. right on Patti.  I agree with your entire post :)

I could accept this pair only if they were written true to character. Let them have all their flaws but can’t live without each other and keep the relationship fiery and entertaining. So far I’m not disappointed.

Ali and James have amazing chemistry and this SL is perfect for it.  I just hope EJ and Sami remain true to each other and their kids.
